Default Judge today signed order returning 440+ FLDS children

A Texas judge today signed an order returning more than 440 children seized from a polygamist sect to their parents.Headline news - CPS and everyone involved with that jacked it up BIGTIME. I would like to see prison terms for those making those mistake, because they greatly abused their powers and really really messed up the lives of 400+ kids. I don't take that lightly, a few years in the Federal pokie for those CPS and police involved would send a clear message nationwide to stay within the laws. [:@]

It should be noted, also, that the attorneys for a number of the children are seeking to have their clients exempted from that order because their clients HAVE been subjected to abuse...

Also, interesting to note that it has been ruled that the return is Conditional. The parents must undergo parenting classes and allow surprise visits by childrens services.

They had no right to remove most of them. Not all of them. There are some where there WAS evidence of abuse, and as to those, there was a right to remove. Again, attorneys representing a number of the children are seeking to keep the children in protective custody...

So they get what, 10 convictions for violating the rights of 400+? That's bad mojo anyway you look at it. When I was on the job, I wouldn't violate 1 person's rights even if I got 100 convictions. That was not only due to my respect for the founding principles, but my respect for personal civil liability as well. No way I'm trading my house and career to get 100 guys playing basketball at Angola. There was a better way to do this, they just didn't want to do the extra work involved. Law enforcement can be a difficult profession, if you want an easy job, go work for the Red Cross.

uh no, they didn't have a RIGHT to do anything they did, and the courts have sided with FLDS on that

CPS have the power to do a lot of things, POWER, and they overstepped it greatly in this case and thats obvious.

Quote:
Under the judge's order, the Department of Family and Protective Services will still have the right to visit and interview the children.

These unannounced visits could entail medical, psychological and psychiatric examinations, and the parents must not intervene.

Also under the order, the parents must attend and complete parenting classes. The families must remain in the state of Texas and notify the department within 48 hours of any trips more than 100 miles from their homes.
why couldn't the above been handed down and never a SWAT team and armed gunmen entered into the equation ?

why were 400+ kids and dozens of family units utterly destroyed for the past few weeks ?

who has been arrested ? charged ?

Quote:
The state of Texas maintained it removed the children because interviews at the ranch uncovered a "pervasive pattern" of sexual abuse through forced marriages between underage girls and older men. The state alleged that young boys on the ranch were groomed to be perpetrators because of those beliefs.

FLDS members deny any sexual abuse occurred and say they are being persecuted because of their religion.
who's lying here ?

Quote:
DFPS spokeswoman Marleigh Meisner said her department supports Walther's order, which "allows for our investigation to continue."

"Our goal is always to try to reunite families," Meisner said. "We hope they can be safe there."

The children are being housed at seven facilities across the state, near Amarillo, Houston, Austin, San Antonio, Abilene, Fort Worth and Corpus Christi.
hey DFPS person - how about admit what you did was illegal, and wrong, and you gotCPS got itspeepee spanked with a ruler for it ? Their goal was to destory the family units and if not for the courts they would have !

Quote:
"The kids have been terrorized and put in the custody of the state for weeks and weeks," FLDS spokesman Willie Jessop said Friday after a hearing to determine how to return the children.

Have you read the decision?

EDIT: Sorry... that is the Texas Supreme Court's order directing the trial judge to revise her original orders...
