OK, so after the second anti-white racist nut job is videotaped spewing hate, Obama quits. What shocks me is how the entire congregation was jumping in excitement, APPLAUDING Phleger's comments just as they did Wrights, like their football team just scored the winning touchdown in a Super Bowl. So now we're to believe not only that Obama never heard this hateful language before in that Church, but that he and his wife are the only oneswho disagree with such hate (hence the entire rest of thecongregation jumping for joy at thehate sermons).
I have heard others say that but is is actually christan. Basically my thought on the presidental election, is you can take it straight up the ____, or take it sideways. Neither is a good option.

Bingo. He recognizes that if the majority of Americans are exposed to the foundations of his belief system and world view, that he wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in Hades of getting elected. So, he's pulling the old Wizard of Oz "pay no mind to the man behind the curtain" trick. I expect that after the votes are counted, he'll rejoin (or find a like-minded church elsewhere that doesn't allow videotaping of the sermons...).
Rush put forth his own theory about Obama's sudden split from his 20 year church, which by the way he never heard such racist stuff ever. He believes it all was a set up to give him the window to split. You bring in a white catholic priest, have him echo the same race baiting stuff and now he can say he's splitting with the church. He's had enough. However, not because his 20 year black preacher said this stuff but a white catholic priest said it. I thought it was an interesting take on the matter.
