Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Dang! We Americans pay more taxes than Canada, Germany, and all of those other Socialist countries who "pay lots of taxes so the government will take care of them."

We liberated Iraq though, so I guess its all good.

We pay too damned much in taxes, that's for sure. However, I'd like to see a chart that estimates total taxes. There may have been one on that website but I am too lazy at the moment to look for it. Some of those nations with lower income taxes than the U.S. pay much more taxes on other items. For example: Gasoline. As much money as our government makes on petrol, our gasoline tax rate pales in comparison to some European nations.

Lots of interesting stuff there:

Tax contribution by richest 30%: 65.3% (Average: 59.4%)
Tax contribution by middle 40%: 28.4% (Average: 32.7%)
Tax contribution by poorest 30%: 6.3% (Average: 8.0%)

And, yet, folks whine and moan about supposed "tax cuts for the rich"... Our poor pay less than average, our middle class pays less than average, and our wealthy pay more than average.

What about all this double taxation......a car is taxed everytime its bought/sold.....

really would like to just see an honest tax system, never know where what taxes are going etc....

sales tax only would work for me, Jesse V. came up with that one....would tax illegals, would tax people buying more more....makes sense to me, funny how this guy is making more sense than most....

just announced essentially he'll be on the ticket when the election rolls around, vote for Jesse as "none of the above"

One thing I learned while across the pond a few years back, the brits have to pay a TV tax. It was 130#'s/year.The reason it was in the news was because they were going after college students watching TV on their cell phones. Since they were no longer at home and living at school, they needed a license also.

Let me ask you a question though...................................what do ya'll think the top 25% of income earners who pay that 63% earn a year?????

Anyone who makes more than $61,055 is in the top 25% of upper wage earners.......so if this website is including the top 30%, then it would be even lower than that. Anyone who thinks that someone making 70,000 is upperclass sure do have a lot different experiences than I do.

Bravo! Bravo!

I pay 25% tax and my government doesn't take care of me. Happy days!

Still....
