Ok 28 million that is alot, but the oil companies are in the billions and they get cash, w-t-f

I still say tie the price of food to the price of oil and things with OPEC would change very rapidly.

Oil subsidies as they like to call them are deductions for exploration costs what little they are allowed to do. When Ted Turner is the number one, on top of the list for farm subsidies, are you really that concerned for his well being?

Why is that? Here in Vermont they are barelygetting by. Most here are into dairy farming. The milk checks are higher now but no way they can be called rich based on their net yearlyincome. They may be rich if they sold the land but most inherited the land from their parents and are continuing to farm as a family tradition. If they tried to go out and buy the farm today they wouldn't be able to afford it.

Way to go Dems! Seems they never sent the full bill to the presidents desk so the bill he vetoed isn't the bill they overode. They now have to start back over and find another way to pass this legislation. Yes, there is a GOD!

Of course, to play the Devils Advocate, keep in mind that oil companies are just that, companies that generate dividends for a multitude ofshareholders. So subsidies to them are not exactly benefiting only individuals as farming subsidies tend to do.

The so-called "farm bill" is a feel good thing that allows political pukes from both party's topull in big cash from largeagricultural conglomerates. Over 75 percent of "farm subsidies" to to just 10 percent of big agri-businesses. The small farmer is left up the creek without a paddle.

Over two thirds of"farm bill" moneyhas nothing to do with farms or farmers. It goesfor food stamps and the various so-called "nutritional" programs: In other words welfare.
