Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

True, very true although it isn't the reason, only the tool used to build the monster. The monster is absolute power.

My guess is someone is trying to advance up the political ladder, freedom has always been forsale for that.

To some extent, I believe you are correct. Organizations like FOP pretend to represent 'rank and file' police officers, and to some extent they do, just not as many as they'd have you believe. They are
most definitely a political organization and are in the tank with the lefties. I do not believe PO's who
are FOP members are necessarily lefties (never met a cop who was anything but right-leaning), only
that they are as BT states, unwilling and afraid of being shot. Being a sanitation man would be great
if everybody drove their own trash to the dump, being a fireman would be a piece of cake if everybody
put out their own fires, and in this case, to a substantial degree, being a copy would be MUCH safer if
it were not for that pesky 2nd Amendment guarantee. Plain and simple.

Some funny stuff, the last line though isn't, or maybe I don't get it. How would they be safer? It's for the law abiding. Break the law and that rights history.

Around here you pay a penalty if you drive your own trash to the dump.[:@]I never saw it in print but heard that they said, we don't want people bothering us. Something like that. The cops were being used to site people for an unsecure load and I think that bother them having to deal with trash, too. Raise the rates, stop people from coming, cause people to use proffesional(license fee'd) business's, problem solved.

Iam so glad we got rid of that God and His "do unto others" crap out of ourpublic life.

Oh you understand the last line perfectly. They would NOT be safer, but that's not the FOP's position.
Like I said, they're in the liberal hog-wallow and support gun control and registration schemes.
I would think that any cop who arrives on a scene where an unarmed person is dead but for the lack of
a personal defense arm, well, I don't think FOP represents these guys. The biggest problem faced by
cops is liberal prosecutors and turn-em-loose judges, not legal gun owners.

I think around here, you gotta pay for the privilege. I don't do it, but just used that as an example to
illustrate the point I was making. Like, being a cashier at Piggly-Wiggly would be a sweet job if it were not
for those customers. You can rest assured that despite all the encroachments we have endured on our Amendment II guarantees, it'd be a lot worse without the amendment; like, all the crappy stuff suggested
and highlighted by the FOP in the opening letter would already be in place. They are not, because of the SEcond Amendment.

Iam so glad we got rid of that God and His "do unto others" crap out of ourpublic life.
I don't know how this relates to the subject at hand....?

Nodog is right, fear is only a tool, the problem is it's really effective.

Bergall, FOP has become increasingly political over the years, and now it is little more than a PAC disguised as a professional organization. My city even had a separate organization for police apart from FOP due to politics. Urban areas are full of left-wing police, and don't even get me started on the feds.

Full of left-wing police officers? Or, politically appointed administrators? i.e. chiefs, assistant chiefs, etc.

I bow to your experience. I would think the number of 'lefty' cops in big cities would be high; after all,
you 'live with the ducks, you quack like the ducks'. Also, their superiors are all politicians...the brass
seems to walk in lockstep with liberal administrations. I would think that 'country cops' or 'suburban police' would be more right-leaning. I can't say about the feds...only knew one and he was not what I'd
call a 'representative sample'.

Administrators have always been the most politically influenced, but the attitude is trickling down into the ranks. Appointments to special units, promotions, etc. are becoming more political as well. It used to be your production that got you considered for special units, now it's based more on your personal politics. My politics were always wrong, but I got good assignments because of overwhelming stats.

Nothing I'm willing to discuss in detail on the net. Clinton I left a big footprint in the federal bureaucracy.

You got the quoting thing down better than me so if this doesn't turn out.

Since we have forced God out the lesser gods are taking His place. They are much worse and they aren't at all concerned with the other guy. Most want to be God, no one wants the responsibility that goes along with the job. I'm 50 and have seen the progression downward with every step. People just want to "feed" themselves and getting a God who demands we take as much of an interest in others as ourselves has no place in our "me society". If you have a gun I might feel threatened, I would have to give you a thought, negitive, but a thought. The FOP doesn't want to give you a thought, it might if your armed and equal.

An unarmed population doesn't make things safer for cops or reduce crime--It just makes it easier for criminals to commit crimes. Gun control is a sham that makes it easier for the law abiding population to become victims because criminals would still have guns. Anybody with even 2 active brain cells realizes that even with no guns allowed at all, criminals would still be able to obtain guns just like drugs and other illegal substances smuggled into this country. The overwhelming # of gunowners are law abiding, pro-law enforcement and anti-crime. Guns don't create crime--They simply enable law abiding people to defend themselves from criminals.
