Default President Bush Unable to Win Saudi Support

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia"” President Bush failed to win the help he sought from Saudi Arabia to relieve skyrocketing American gas prices Friday, a setback for the former Texas oilman who took office predicting he would jawbone oil-producing nations to help the U.S.[/b]

"Supply and demand are in balance today," al-Naimi told a news conference, bristling at criticism from the U.S. Congress. "How much does Saudi Arabia need to do to satisfy people who are questioning our oil practices and policies?"

Who cares? We don't need their oil. We have plenty of alternative energy right here at home.[:-]

Ask someone from America's GREATEST GENERATION what we did for ***AN after we annihilated them in WWII??? They were the ENEMY, and we were kind enough to rebuild their country well enough that their factories were newer than ours, and suddenly they were making products nearly as good as what we made here, then at some point, they were making stuff as good (sometimes better), and AS MUCH as us. You want to help drive down OIL/FUEL prices???? STOP BUYING FOREIGN TRASH!!!! If you can't make it, or no one here makes it, don't buy it. WE ARE CHINA's BIGGEST CUSTOMER!!!! And CHINA is our biggest COMPETITION when it comes to "NEEDING OIL!!!"

That's BS. Take a lesson from the "GREATEST GENERATION" and act like them. Face down the competition and beat them. Don't ask me to give you a pass because you can't measure up. I truely believe we can win but I'm not paying for second best nor should I!

I'm not asking for a "pass," what I'm saying is we've been a very "giving" nation for long before you or I were either one alive, and "TAKING" the Saudi's Oil or demanding it at a "Discount" is nothing more than "thievery." Like it or not, just because we saved their butts, or "liberated" Iraq from Saddam, don't give us a right to "STEAL/TAKE" their oil. And trust me, I CAN measure up, as a veteran, a nurse, a guy with the know how to build homes, rebuild engines, you name it, I'm certainly capable.

Not sure what you mean by the rest of the above quoted thread, I'll need more verification to be able to address it.

Good reply. Total thumbs up to you. I'm not going to back down from competition is all I'm saying and I don't expect us to either. Don't ask me tonot buy somethig made else where because it was. I shop and spend my money wisely (I think) except for beers at a bar. We need to drill here at home just like we need to stop hating the very corporations employing the folks here at home by pricing them out of the market through regulation. We are in this oil crises right now because of our own doing. We block our own oil drilling and demand more from others. That just makes no sense. The last hillary comment I heard was that she was going to force OPEC to do more. What a fricking joke. I'm sure they are just freaking in their limos and palaces right now.

Yep, the same folks who whine and rail about "socialism" here at home are ready to give the red Chinese communists a pass because the putrid politicians who who run this country find it convenient to do so. Never mind that thered Chinese have sent poisoned toys, poisoned medicine and all other kinds of cheap trash to the US. They continue to violate "free trade" agreements while their political backers in theUSmake lame excuses.

This is another red herring issue brought to you by the feel good boys in DC. The US lacks the refinerycapacity to process ANWR oil. It cannot be refined here anyway because it is such poor quality. There is more oil in the shale in WY than there is in Saudi: The oil companies are not interested in developing new technology in order to extract it.

It has already been developed. We aren't allowed to go after the stuff to process it.

Don't even go there when it comes to who we do business with. You might be surprised if you really knew who wants to take your money in exchange for goods and or services. All I can say is that Americans aren't hurting for work. It must be nice being above quota.
