I am curious as to how many men here could honestly say that they married up? Married up in regards to, but not limited tothings such as spouse had a greater income, greater level of education, greater status in the community, etc......
I guess I should be fair and answer myself, first. I make a greater income than my wife and have a higher level of education, but fairly equitable in other areas.
Let's just say I've been accused of having way too much wife. Not related to the questions you asked but related to the topic of marrying up.

OK I'm comfortable with my manhood to admit it. My wife has a college degree and makes $34,000 more a year than I do/did. I got a good job right out of high school and just retired from government work after 30 years, I'll be 49 in September. She is also better looking than me.......

I make 6 figures. My wife has a H.S. diploma, is infinitely better on the eyes than I am, is
1000% smarter than I am, and makes about 40k more than I do. Life is good....
I read somewhere once that most do not marry up/down, we tend to marry in our own social standings.....and that makes quite some sense. Also I think many times people may think they're marrying up when really they're marrying within the own class.....but it does occurr I'm sure.
On tv, some politician or someone with some significance in that sense recently said that this guy was middle class because his income was either 200k or 500k a year, either way thats quite a middle class! I'm not sure where they draw the line, but the point was that he had no clue.
Maybe I'm just whipped, but I can't answer that question based on money or education. I married up because Mrs. Six is a much sweeterperson thanI am. I'll take more love over more money any day. Heh heh heh...
