Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default We just got a small victory

The Supremes just ruled that states can require voters to furnish a picture ID.

Excellent.

My wife works at a convenience store. It's literally astonishing how many people drive to the store and try to buy beer and cigarettes, but don't have a driver's license... which means they're probably driving around without insurance ...

Seems to me an officer could sit there at the store and write tickets all day long...

Good post.

Looks like theutility bill is out as voter ID in some towns. Unless, of course, it has a picture on it.

You got that right pal. Michigan will issue you a picture ID that qualifies for a dollar. It's acceptable anywhere as a driver's license substitute.

What? Id for a dollar that is acceptable as a drivers license? Michigan has a Personal ID card just as every other state that is acceptable as an ID card not a drivers license.I have been acop inMI for 10 years and i have not heard of the$1 id card that passes a drivers license.

I don't think the meaning was "acceptable as a drivers license." I believet he meaning was acceptable as a driver's license substitute for purposes of identification only.

I've been under the impression for all these years that cops in Michigan had to know how to read. I said it's an ID card that substitutes for a driver's license. It's an ID card that subsititutes for people who don't have a driver's license. Where the h*ll did you take your training?

I have had to show a picture ID every time I have voted. It has been that way as long as I can remember. If Louisiana can make it work...
