TSA Endangers Pilots Through dangerous policy.***Alledgely some pilots and their union complained to the TSA about this months ago. This is not an official video, but a plausible recreation of the direct causeofthe accidental discharge.
all sorts of things can happen and the video provided seems reasonable enough to be
believable. Luckily nobody was hit when the gun discharged. Seems to me that the
TSA regulations governing firearms posession by pilots is the cause of the problem which
nobody seems to address in: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6ErI...eature=related
which shows the incident in somewhat of a 'real world' light.
I"ve had snaps come undone. When it's discovered you just resecure your weapon.
I do not minimize the role the pilot played in the incident, only list TSA regs as a
contributing factor.
I never knew pilots had guns on board now. I personally from working on aircraft as a flight dispatcher think its dangerous and better care should be taken especially when this hunk of junk is presurised at 31,000ft.
I wonder if they use them here? Probably not. There's just not any common sense anymore especially when it comes to guns...

I believe this is in the US only... I don't know if other nations allow pilots to be armed on
commercial jetliners. Seems sort of reasonable to me, considering the kind of damage one
illegally armed subhuman can do on a plane where everybody is unarmed. There is no common
sense when it comes to firearms. Common sense dictates personal arms in situations where
armed confrontation is possible.....
I still don't think the methods they have are right It should be in some sort of case in the aircraft because as someone pointed out in the video it was easy to bump the gun while flying the aircraft.
I think its reasonable to have a firearm on board but like I said earlier when it comes to planes, more measures should be taken. And from working in the aviation industry the US isn't exactly the best at security and regulating. Only now they've started to get up to our standards. 911 opened peoples eyes.
Just me $00.02 from an experianced flight dispatcher (ex now)

bullet through the skin of a pressurized aircraft isn't going to hurt anything, airplanes blowing up or people being sucked out windows is a myth.
Besides that, we have tens of thousands if not more citizens on the ground who are able to get through an active day without their concealed carry piece going off because of a silly lock. Pilots are supposed to be some of the best and the brightest, they shouldn't have to have a holster that is approved by Handgun Control inc, when regular holsters seem to work just fine for everyone else.

Another thing, US Air Mashalls don't have to have those silly holsters either.

Um, I was a flight dispatcher which means I have to be extremely knowledgable regarding various types of aircraft.
I also have my PPL.
My other half has a diploma in aeronautical engineering/mechanical engineering.
