Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Experts forecast more cooling in '08

....So we had a cooler 2007 than '06, and will have more cooling in 2008. But the global warming fanatics, undeterred, say it is la nina causing the lower temperatures, and will still have warming. I'm sorry, but if the atmosphere is getting hotter and hotter as the global warming people say, how can temperatures COOL. Surely, we'd now have higher temps than ten years ago, but that's not the case at all. Think of an oven set to ever increasing temps due to man's impact on temperature. The turkey inside would continue to increase in temps. It's not like some of it's ice would melt and cause its temp to dip as the oven continues to increase in temps.

I realize the topic of global warming is more complex than that, but the global warming people themselves NEVER SAID WE'D HAVE DECADES WITH NO INCREASE, OR CONSECUTIVE YEARS OF DECREASING TEMPERATURES. THEY HAVE BEEN SCREAMINGEND OF THE WORLD SCENARIOS BASED ON A CONSTANT INCREASE IN TEMPS.

How do they reconcile the facts with their fictitious theory?

Just like El Nino caused the over warming. Funny how they refuse to see the whole cycle. All uniformitarianism. Always been, always will.

There is little reason in the global warming position. What I see most often is isolated observations. The snows are receding on the top of Mt Kilamanjaro GLOBAL WARMING MUST BE AT PLAY! The possibility that local practices, such as removing vegetation, have changed the precipitation patterns on Mt Kilamanjaro, or other effects, are not considered. Science is not done in this way. It is a slow, pains-taking process. For every two steps forward there is a step back. Some scientist, perhaps Issac Newton, said that until you have numbers you don't have science. All of the talk of global warming leaves me asking, how much, how soon, how long, etc. Put some numbers down on paper.Associate some probabilities with those numbers. As with any random, statistical phenomenon, there is some chance that any event will happen, but the key to understanding is a sound probability distribution. What are the probability projections based upon? Who has checked and validated the numbers and the models? What kind of independent corroborations have been provided from separate and distinct disciplines or areas of science? You never hear these things. You hear worst case scenarios. We could see water levels rise 200 feet if all the ice on the planet melts. Well, maybe, but what is the probability distribution function for that event? What are the assumptions upon which that distribution function is based? What corroboration from separate and distinct disciplines were provided? Never discussed.

Global warming may be happening. Is it human caused? What portion of the cause is attributable to human behavior -- 90% or 10% or 1%? How are these numbers generated? How mature is our science? Information I've recently seen talked about a new satellite launched in 2002 that only now provides us with sound measurements of key cloud cover data. How can our science be mature without this data which has only been available since 2002? How much is the temperature going to go up?

Besides the bad effects that are drummed into our heads all the time, what are the good effects that will happen? Will we have better, more affordable wine? Will formerly unarrable regions become rich agricultural regions? To me the supposition that there can only be pain and catastrophe from climate change is preposeterous and an illustration of the incomplete anlaysis and understanding of those involved in this issue. Of course there will be winners. Of course there will be benefits from global warming, in addition to the trumpeted bad effects.

I wouldn't trust a climatologist any further than I could throw them. I wonder what it was that caused the Earth to fall out of the last Ice Age? That's right! It was global warming!

A more illuminating question would be what has caused the numerous alternating periods of glaciation and inter-glacials over the past two million years. Before that it had been over 200 million years since the Earth had experienced an ice age. One theory is thattwo million years ago the North American and South American continents moved into positions that created the isthmus of Panama and blocked ocean currents between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceansthat would normally moderate globaltemperatures, thereby triggering the recentperiods of glaciation.

If you want an example of how Global Warming does not exsist, come to Wisconsin. Its snowing, and 25 degrees right outside my window right now, and its APRIL! What happened to all this warming that these hippies speak of?

we earthlings. No way you can get two consecutive cooling years if the oven is increasing temps due to human CO2 emissions
