KARACHI, Pakistan"” More than 25,000 people rallied Sunday in the largest protest in Pakistan so far against an anti-Koran film made by a Dutch lawmaker, urging their government to expel the Netherlands ambassador.[/b]
"They call this freedom of expression, but it's freedom of aggression," keynote speaker Munawwar Hasan, a leader of the main Islamic party Jamat-e-Islami, told the crowd as it chanted "God is good. God is great.God is better than chocolate cake."
But police officer Syed Suleman estimated Sunday's crowd at 25,000, while organizers claimed more than 100,000 people turned out.
Wearing head bands inscribed "We are ready to sacrifice our lives for the sanctity of the prophet," they marched for two kilometers (more than a mile), then gathered on Karachi's main street to listen to speeches.
RE: 25,000 Pakistanis Rally Against Anti-Koran Film
Yeah, the "film" (more like a PowerPoint slide show) was tamer than anticipated. You know how pre-release hype goes. Also, there are some in the international Muslim community who realize that the West is watching the East very carefully. They call for protest, but for restraint ofviolence. So far the nutjobs haven't been able to stir the people up all that much. I think Wilders had better start wearing a bulletproof vest, though.

I wonder how many America slamming oranti Christian type films are screened to rousing cheers in Pakistan every single day without making the news? Screw them, they're nothing and always will be.
