pretty funny, and not at all unique. I remember NY State was doing this sort of thing in the 1970's; releasing tens of thousands
of mentally ill people onto the streets (I don't really remember the details of whether they were coming from prisons or mental
health facilities). These because the first real wave of 'homeless' or 'street people' in NYC that I can remember.
I wonder how much of the states' budgets, of the states involved here, are tied up in entitlements and
social giveaways ?

I hope to god that this won't happen. People don't realize that these people will most likely go back to doing the same activity again. I mean, who would really want dangerous criminals wandering the street, putting countless innocent people at risk?

i have this vision of the liberals renovating jails into condos then having to raise taxes to build new ones again...[8D]

If you took all the IA's out of prison and bused them south (Mexico), and if you could find a way from keeping them from coming back, you would relieve prison overcrowding, and you could keep Americans that need to be locked up...locked up...alot of prison money is spent on IA's.

I believe this to be the least vaible alternative.
A society of drug-addicted people is a sick society with a lower quality of life.
* Build more prisons
* remove air conditioning from public areas (only in sleeping areas)
* remove the gym/exercise equipment
* convert the Law library into more cells
* re-institute chain-gangs for all convicts
* lower the standards for food service
* cease internet and computer access
Strict prison discipline is the key to lowering pops. When skunks don't wanna
go back because it's so bad they might not survive the experience, well, maybe we'll see the crime rate drop and see less recidivism from the convicts we process.

Right now, the only reason prisons are so bad is because of WHO'S IN 'EM.
That Arizona sherriff has the right idea...don't hear any negatives coming out
of his fenceless, wallless prison out in the desert....

+1 many of the people in for drug offenses are non violent offenders, and just need help with their addictions. send them to rehab not prison. But lets keep the violent offenders in prison. Those are the ones we have to worry about.
