He won't pardon two border patrol agents ,that should not be in Jail but goes to bat for this scum
Totally stepped over his authority, none of his buisness what the State of Texas did in this matter.
This makes my skin boil, I know he doesn't have much use for our Constitution but come on it's President Bush not King Bush.
President Bush, who presided over 152 executions as governor of Texas, wants to halt the state's execution of a Mexican national for the brutal killing of two teenage girls.
The case of Jose Ernesto Medellin has become a confusing test of presidential power that the U.S. Supreme Court, which hears the case this week, ultimately will sort out.
The president wants to enforce a decision by the International Court of Justice that found the convictions of Medellin and 50 other Mexican-born prisoners violated their rights to legal help as outlined in the 1963 Vienna Convention.
That is the same court Bush has since said he plans to ignore if it makes similar decisions affecting state criminal laws.
"The president does not agree with the ICJ's interpretation of the Vienna Convention," the administration said in arguments filed with the court. This time, though, the U.S. agreed to abide by the international court's decision because ignoring it would harm American interests abroad, the government said.
Texas argues that neither the international court nor Bush has any say in Medellin's case.

[/align]Medellin was born in Mexico, but spent much of his childhood in the United States. He was 18 in June 1993, when he and other members of the Black and Whites gang in Houston encountered two teenage girls on a railroad trestle.
The girls were gang-raped and strangled. Their bodies were found four days later.
Medellin was arrested a few days later. He was told he had a right to remain silent and have a lawyer present, but the police did not tell him that he could request assistance from the Mexican consulate.
Medellin gave a written confession. He was convicted of murder in the course of a sexual assault, a capital offense in Texas. A judge sentenced him to death in October 1994.
Medellin did not raise the lack of assistance from Mexican diplomats during his trial or sentencing. When he did claim his rights had been violated, Texas and federal courts turned him down because he had not objected at his trial. Mexico later sued the United States in the International Court of Justice in The Hague, Netherlands, on behalf of Medellin and 50 other Mexicans on death row in the U.S.

You're only one post away from a federal watch list.
Already kinda old news. The SCOTUS ruled that the Texas Courts are not subject to the jurisdiction or rulings of the World Court, and that Bush's position was wrong.

WTF??? Why should the "Mexican Consulate" have any bearing in THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA??? It shouldn't, and this slimy, dirty SOB oughta been hung western style right after he'd been traumatically castrated and allowed to suffer for a while.
Mexico sued the US??? What rights does Mexico have to "sue" us??? For providing FREE HEALTHCARE to their indigent populations that they won't care for, for provided well-paying jobs and making their country much more wealthy than it's ever been before???
Charlie,
I agree, I think he's lost it on this one, however, he's likely just trying to appease the ACLU and the LEFTIES in some way. I favor a return to "ISOLATIONISM" where we don't rely on any other country for anything, an we don't associate with any foreign countries. The WHOLE DAMNED WORLD is stupid!!! Why on EARTH should some gang-banging, raping, murdering MEXICAN get any special treatment in the US??? WHAT AN ABSOLUTE INSULT TO THE FAMILIES OF THESE GIRLS!!!!!
Thank god the SC put a stop to this World Court BS, however if anyone has ever traveled to a foreign country then I'm sure the thought atleast crossed your mind about what would happen if something went wrong. This was something a lot different I think, because he had spent most of his life in the U.S.
"Why should the Mexican Consulate have any bearing in the U.S.?" The same reason if you were to go out of the country (say China) and got accused of doing something you'd bet your American @$$ that you'd want the U.S. consulate to help you out as much as possible. In a situation like this, its easy to say "oh yea, he's a murdering rapist" so it's a pretty cut and dry case, but you have to realize that in many other countries they treat minor offenses as pretty serious, and we don't want these other countries to just start stoning people without letting them contact the U.S. government for help.
The case of the border agents has been a recurring subject on my favorite talk radio station. I have yet to hear a convincing argument that the border guards should be pardoned, but don't really care enough about it to argue the point.
