Just heard this on the radio. The police in boston have initiated a program where they go around and ask people to voluntarily let them come into their homes to search for illegal guns. The police have been disappointed to find out that very few people are willing to cooperate. Anybody know the whole story on this?

I heard just a little more about it. Evidentally, it targets high crime neighborhoods and the requests are to search only the rooms of kids living there. However, there are no guarantees of immunity from charges if something illegal is found. The update i heard said thatpolice are "shocked" at the lack of cooperation from people.

She said the program is aimed at residents who want to cooperate with police. She gave the example of parents who know or suspect their children have guns in the home.
Now, what the heck is wrong with that picture? If I, as a parent, know or suspect my child has guns in my home (that I don't want him to have), why would I need the police to come in and look for them?
Your pastor approve of that? More importantly, does Jesus approve of that?
It's interesting that even though the site asterisks out certain words in a post, when you push the Quote button, the actual word that the author typed appears.
Many times the parent is a single woman who has long since lost control over her children and is genuinely afraid of them and the police are her only resort.
If I remember correctly, this has been going on in Boston for a year or two. Obviously, as we witness in many other aspects of government, reality is not high on the law enforcement agenda.
