Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default McCain Democrat?

Ok, so you guys can fill me in on this because I wasn't aware of it until about 5 minutes ago. So its rather apparent that in examining his record, McCain doesn't really adhere to conservative principles. However, I did not know that there was talk of him switching parties and running with Kerry or something in 2000? Apparently now McCain people now try to say Kerry approchaed him about the switch, but it was initially proposed by McCain...?

Whatever he may be, he is a far cry from the likes of Clinton and Obama...

With all due respect, you're voting for Obama so why do care about McCain's Republican loyalty?

Yes, McCain nearly left the Republican Party in 2001. At the same time the Democrats were courting Jumpin' Jim Jeffords, McCain approached Tom Daschle and other senior Democrats in the Senate about the possibility of switching to their party. Then in 2004, McCain and Kerry were nearly running mates.

It doesn't matter, though. He's still a lot better than Obama. McCain served his country in Vietnam and as a prisoner of war suffered like we can't even imagine. Obama's earliest mentor was a communist and he has now befriended a domestic terrorist who bombed U.S. buildings to protest the war in Vietnam. There's quite a difference.

You also made the false assumption that all Republicans are conservative, there's such a thing as a liberal Republican just as there are conservative Democrats, both just happen to be the minority in their parties these days.

My thoughts exactly, I'd vote for Jesse Jackson before Obama, at least with Jesse you know you're getting an admitted bigot.

Gosh guys, there are degrees of conservatism. I mean not every conservative wants to outlaw all forms of abortion or allow unregulated gun ownership. Just because someone isn't in step with Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter doesn't mean that they are not a legitimate conservative. Hell,Bill Clinton cold take some fairly moderate stances at times, but people weren't howling that it made him a conservative.

Well, gee... don't a lot of hard core Democrats feel their cnadidates should stick to liberal principles? What's your point? That since McCain may be more liberal than some conservatives would like him to be on some issues, that means he should be kicked to the curb and we should support your candidate? That's like saying that since I don't particularly care for Tomato Juice, I should drink Sulfuric Acid instead.
