I think this will hurt China in the end. Not because ofidealistic student activists, butthe international community. Just one more thing to add to the world's list of complaints. The spotlight will be on Beijing this summer, and I think it's a given that someone, or they themselves, will embarrass the Chinese government.
They've really shot themselves in the foot now. You can bet that Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, and Sean Penn are all gonna send them some very angry letters.[]

Indeed, the peacniks and everyone else should raise holy hades about Chinese communist atrocities in Tibet. Boycotting the olympics would be a very good idea. Thefolkswho whine on this board about socialism here in the US are willing to give the Chinese communists a pass: Go figure.

Personally,I think the Tibetans need to fight for themselves. I certainly don't the U.S. fighting on the northern slopes of the Himalayas.
