Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Avoid overcorrecting economy, Bush warns

WASHINGTON - President Bush on Saturday said the government must guard against going too far in trying to fix the troubled economy, cautioning that "one of the worst things you can do is overcorrect." Democrats said Bush was relying on inaction to solve the problem.

....figures Democrats would have something negative to say, they do not care about America really.

....GW is wise, all seeing. all knowing, all nuke-clear...

"Wages and home values are down," Reid said, "but prices for everything from health care to tuition to energy are up. Just this week, oil and gas prices reached record highs while the value of the dollar reached historic lows. I hope the president, who has been slow to acknowledge this problem, joins us in recognizing how urgently we need a solution."

Here's the solution to all of this that the Democrats will push-

-Nationalize healthcare. To pay for this, raise taxes. Of course the level of service will plummet and costs will skyrocket due to an involved government bureaucracy, but it doesn't matter if you are a Senator/Representative who would be outsideof the Nationalized system (just like they are outside of the Socialist Security system).

-Increase fuel taxes. These taxes can be used to pay their cronies at ADM and Cargill to run ethanol plants at a net loss to the consumers and the environemt. The industry makes out like bandits because ethanol gasoline blends will/are mandated. (this is already happening in my state)

-Tuitition: more taxes to expand a two-tier system where minorities and illegal immigrants get the lion's share of grants, loans, and scholarships while white students are left to fend for themselves because their parents show more than a shred of financial responsibility.

-Home values: Once the owners of the homes are evicted due to their upside down mortgages (I really have no sympathy) the homes can be bought up by the government at bargain prices (funded by new taxes of course) and be turned into low income housing (putting poor people in better neighborhoods should do the trick).

I find it interesting that Bush is warning against doing too much, considering the gubment is doing exactly that, everything it possibly can to bail out the economy and stock market. We have consecutive lowering of interest rates, bailing out mortgage banks, checks mailed out to taxpayers to stimulate the economy. Rewarding dangerous behavior with bailouts is dangerous policy!
