Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

I think we've been in one...

We aren't there yet. Still to many indicators point to shimming past one. However, should we not begin to pick back up by the summer, it could be trouble.

I saw a guy on the Glenn Beck show ... the government determones unemplyment using monthly, snail mail surveys to employers. There is a website that updates unemployment figures daily that private anylists use. Our government uses a system older than air traffic controller computers.

BTW, can't wait to put the gov't in charge of all health care.[&o]

I dont pay any attention to unemployment figures durring the months of sept thru april due to the fact a lot of people get laid off durring this time frame due to the weather,i.e..carpenters,plummers,home builders, cement layers, electricians, marine, heavy equipt operators,so of course the unemployment rate will go up but then it drops back down.....But if the left gets reid of the tax cuts(BIG IF)if they get into office alot of these type of workers will lose thier jobs due to the fact the big biz/company's wount build and expand thus creating more jobs...

Back to recession...I dont think we are there yet but are walking a fine line......If you cant afford it dont buy it......

It is not a recession; Dr. Feel Good, resident of 1600 PA Avenue, Washington, DC says so.

This part of Alabama that I live is in a recession and has been for about three years. The jobs around here are leaving or they are laying several folks off from work. We need some help big time and this gas price is not helping matters any.
