Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Environmentalism and the Pope

Could post this in the religion forum, but it seems to fit the environmental issues discussed here too:

The Catholic church is content to live in the Middle Ages, and since I'm not Catholic anyway I really couldn't care less what they think. The last "big" idea they had was the Inquisition, not hard to do the math on that one...

The funny thing is that the Baptists said pretty much the same thing today about global climate change, that it can no longer be ignored.

I wasn't surprised by some racist attitudes on this board but religious bigotry really blind-sided me. Maybe I should just be more cynical.

No, the Vatican has plumbing.

By the way, not all republicans feel like we have stewarded the planet correctly. I am one. I appreciate the National Forests, the critters, yup I am a bit of a tree hugger too. Of course, I have been known to bag a few tasty things now and then.

I don't recognize pollution as the cuase of global warming.

I don't recognize the pope as the supreme leader of the church.

Baptists don't recognize one another in the liquor store.

I don't see how this changes much.

Pope Benedict = Joseph Ratzinger was born into a traditional Bavarian farming family in 1927, although his father was a policeman.

....google search for Joseph Ratzinger and learn.
