AP probe finds drugs in drinking water

A vast array of pharmaceuticals "” including antibiotics, anti-convulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones "” have been found in the drinking water supplies of at least 41 million Americans, an Associated Press investigation shows.

In the course of a five-month inquiry, the AP discovered that drugs have been detected in the drinking water supplies of 24 major metropolitan areas "” from Southern California to Northern New Jersey, from Detroit to Louisville, Ky.

I remember one time hearing about the fact that urine from women on birth control pills resulted in a high level of some type of chemical in water supplies in areas where water is recycled.

Officials have known about this issue for a few years and at this point there's nothing that can be done to remove them from the water. And at this point, there's no effidence that anyone is at danger from drinking the water. Really, not much of a story, YET! But some are trying to make it another doom and gloom story!
