I heard her say this last week. IMO, this is her way of trying to weasle her way onto Obama's ticket. If she wins, she has to pick him. I'm not sure that wouldn't sit well with his supporters. Playing second fiddle to a underhanded Clinton. The other way around, Obama would be stupid to pick her. How long do you think she would play second fiddle?

Story starting to circulate right now that Obama has declined any VEEP slot. Also an article in LA Times that repulicans did a drive in texas that caused Clinton to win, with their 9% total vote.
Crossovers are dangerous. Some always stay.

In Iowa, Obama; nationally, McCain based on the most recent polls that I am aware of. The GOP in Iowa plunged to the 3rd largest political organization with ranking order Dems, independents & GOP.

Let me add another thought when thinking Hillary as #2 slot. Has anyone heard of the two Senators from NY. Chuck Schumer, Senior Senator from NYand Hillary Clinton, Junior Senator from NY?

By team Clinton. I know of no one, democrat or not, who thinks Hillary would settle for 2nd fiddle. She has the deserved reputation as one who will stop at nothing. The democrat bosses, as well as many rank& file democrats, don't want to see a political gang war on the convention floor. Obama is new on the scene, & conventional wisdom says that the VP slot would be OK for someone with his tenure. I'm not sure if it will work - however the Clintons are subtly (or not so subtly) fostering the possible image of Obama as VP. That would solve problems for the democrat leadership - though I'm pretty sure he doesn't want to be her VP & I doubt she wants him, as he could upstage her. Fostering the idea of him as VP & how wonderful that would be could dampen the fire for some who support Obama, as a way to avoid as much political gutter politics as possible. Plus, Obama has not reacted well under pressure this week.

RE: Possibly a Shrewd Calculation
I don't see it happening where either are slated for a VP spot. I am most interested in who McCain will pick since that person will quite probability be be our nation's 45th president one way or another.
