I didn't help with McCain's campaign here so I have no inside clues on the direction he might go. Would like to hear anyone's ideas on this if they have they have the scoop!

I think he has two benchmarks he must meet: somebody who is considered conservative, and somebody from a valuable state. Ohio, Florida, or perhaps a southerner.
Last I heard (last week) was a rumor that he was looking at our 49th state for Governor Sarah Palin, another 'independent' republican. I know nothing of her, except she's considered an 'independent', a 'republican', a 'female' and is 7 months pregnant....she's a 'looker' tho'....

RE: Any thoughts McCain's VP choice?
Whoever he picks wil be an important one. Too many people don't care for him and a great VP pick might help to seal the deal. He will be 72 when elected...an age hardly representative of a person in their prime. The only thing young about McCain is his wife.

She looks like a nightmare for any ticket with Clinton on it. Quite a contrast IMO. A little too centrist for me, but anything is better than something from the democrat menu.
