Gas $5.00 a gallon this summer
It appears that the corn crops this year did not meet the need for the ethanol that is used as a blend in gas or cattle feed. This will cause gas, milk, eggs, pork, and beef to go up. It is suggested that gas will hit $5.00 a gallon. [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

In Elmore, Alabama gas is only $3.09 a gallon. My truck has a 350 w/ a V-8, Talk about some bad gas mileage. I hope gas dont reach $5.00 a gallon. Its all i can do just to keep gas in my truck now!!!

I hope it does go to $5.00 a gallon. That would show that our economy is strong. However, more importantly, perhaps it will open up people's eyes to realize we are and will be an oil base society for a long long time and we need to drill for our own oil and build our own refineries. Bush said once again today or yesterday, "we need to get off our dependence on oil"[:@]. Why bring these high prices on ourselves and then complain about paying for it?

everything will go up - and you as a consumer will suffer greatly for it. You'll spend a good deal % MORE next year, and your income will not rise to reflect it.
Most people will not know how to deal with it, thus they will have more debt, more CC debt, more foreclosures, moredefaulted loansetc consumer buying will drop, which will affect businesses .......

Meaning rations? I hate paying $3+ for gas, but I don't think the gov can do much about it. Even if they could, weARE talking about the gov.....that would be a fuster cluck of biblical proportions.

Yep, the Gobs need to step in. They need to step in and allow more refinerys to be built. The oil is not the problem, its our refinerycapability that is kicking out butt.
