Default stimulus pack number 2

i was watching fox news

Dem's including the house leader and some rep.
decided the first stimulus package that bush got through was not enough and
The govt. needs to give more money

now how can they say the first package does not work when not one check has been sent.
Now i am not saying if they send me two check i ant going to cash the thing but seems like to me they all want the credit before the election they can not have

They are right, the stimulus would work if I just had another $685 to spend on that Marlin I have my eye on.

Why not? We have been giving billions of dollars to Iraq. However I do not see anything as free, as it will cost us all somewhere else if we get it that is for sure..

My problem is that the gov't is looking 'give back' THAT WHICH IS OURS ALREADY !!! THere should be NO SURPLUS of tax money for the government. THat being said, a TAX REDUCTION is the way to go to stimulate the economy. RIght now, if I make 1000 a week, I might keep 600. THAT'S $400 TO THE TAX MAN !
Give BACK ? WTF are they TAKING it in the FIRST PLACE ???

It's a BS scheme...it will have no affect...
The intent is for people to go out and spend, spend, spend. That being said,
it looks like you've already figured out it's not enough to spend, spend, spend.
I know I can't get my Colt ordered, that's for sure. Most people are going to use
the piddlin' amount pay down debt, something there's LOTS of .

You may not need to spend that much, there's some unhappy campers on the gun forum who sound like they would let an Encore go cheap.

I don't have any debt to pay off, except the house. Debt is evil!

That first part isn't true. All the Government is doing is redistributing wealth. Not everyone gets money back and some, who don't pay taxes are getting a check. This has no more effect then to scoop water out of the deep end of the pool and dumping it into the shallow end.

We do need to make the tax cuts permenant. Right now we are facing the largest tax increase in history if they don't do that. They are also going to have to raise even more taxes to pay for all the spending they have planned. We haven't even touched on the failing medicare system.
