So your a Democrat ..this makes you wanna go Hemm?
For those of us who spent time in the military, believe in our military and support the men and women of our military, read on............. ~
John Glenn (DEMOCRAT) said this -----
It should make you think a little:
There were 39 combat related killings in Iraq in January.
In the fair city of Detroit there were 35 murders in the
month of January. That's just one American city,
about as deadly as the entire war-torn country of Iraq.
When some claim that President Bush shouldn't
have started this war, state the following:
FDR (DEMOCRAT) led us into World War II.
Germany never attacked us ; ***an did.
From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost ..
an average of 112,500 per year.
Truman (DEMOCRAT) finished that war and started one in Korea
North Korea never attacked us
From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost ...
an average of 18,334 per year.
John F. Kennedy (DEMOCRAT) started the Vietnam conflict in 1962.
Vietnam never attacked us.
Johnson (DEMOCRAT) turned Vietnam into a quagmire.
From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost ..
an average of 5,800 per year.
Clinton (DEMOCRAT) went to war in Bosnia without UN or French consent.
Bosnia never attacked us .
He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three
times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on
multiple occasions. (This one is a fact that makes me mad as hell. Dave)
In the years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush
has liberated two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled
al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran, and, North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist whoslaughtered 300,000 of his own people. And the Democrats are complainingabout how long the war is taking.
But Wait, There'smore
It took less time to take Iraq than it took Janet Reno (DEMOCRAT)
to take the Branch Davidian compound.
That was a 51-day operation..
We've been looking for evidence for chemical weapons
in Iraq for less time than it took Hillary Clinton (DEMOCRAT) to find
the Rose Law Firm billing records.
It took less time for the 3rd Infantry Division and the
Marines to destroy the Medina Republican Guard
than it took Ted Kennedy to call the police after his
Oldsmobile sank at Chappaquiddick.
It took less time to take Iraq than it took
to count the votes in Florida!!!
Our Commander-In-Chief is doing a GREAT JOB !
The Military morale is high!
The biased media hopes we are too ignorant
to realize the facts
But Wait - - - - There's more!
JOHN GLENN (on the Senate floor - January 26, 2004)
Some people still don't understand why military personnel
do what they do for a living. This exchange between
Senators John Glenn and Senator Howard Metzenbaum
is worth reading. Not only is it a pretty impressive
impromptu speech, but it's also a good example of one
man's explanation of why men and women in the armed
services do what they do for a living.
This IS a typical, though sad, example of what
some who have never served think of the military.
Senator Metzenbaum (speaking to Senator Glenn):
'How can you run for Senate when you've never held a real job?'
Senator Glenn (D-Ohio):
'I served 23 years in the United States Marine Corps.
I served through two wars. I flew 149 missions.
My plane was hit by anti-aircraft fire on 12 different
occasions. I was in the space program. It wasn't my
checkbook, Howard; it was my life on the line. It was
not a nine-to-five job, where I took time off to take the
daily cash receipts to the bank.'
'I ask you to go with me .. . as I went the other day...
to a veteran's hospital and look those men ...
with their mangled bodies . in the eye, and tell THEM
they didn't hold a job!
You go with me to the Space Program at NASA
and go, as I have gone, to the widows and Orphans
of Ed White, Gus Grissom and Roger Chaffee...
and you look those kids in the eye and tell them
that their DAD'S didn't hold a job.
You go with me on Memorial Day and you stand in
Arlington National Cemetery , where I have more friends
buried than I'd like to remember, and you watch
those waving flags.
You stand there, and you think about this nation,
and you have the gall to tell ME that those people didn't have a job?
What about Metzenbaum?'
For those who don't remember
During W.W.II, Howard Metzenbaum was an attorney
representing the Communist Party in the USA
Now he's a Senator!
If you can read this, thank a teacher.
If you are reading it in English thank a Veteran.

Hmmmmm. John Glennhas endorsed Hillary Clinton for POTUS.
But John Glenn is a Democrat. I don't think he'll be endorsing a republican.
And he did NOT endorse obama.
Metzenbaum's gaffe with Glenn is typical of the liberal/socialist attitudes regarding the military.
They are a vile and disgusting bunch, using our rights to bring us down. Witness the Clinton
dismantling of the military during his 8 years in office...and this is the kind of disgrace that
Americans are lining up to see, and paying big bucks to hear speak. I do not understand the
total lack of congnizant thought in the people who support these skanks. Thanks DD for that
piece. I always thought Metzenskunk was a vile and disgusting individual...the Senate is a better
place without him.

"Witness the Clinton dismantling of the military during his 8 years in office..."
Bergall, you get on this board and talk all your trash before you ever do any research into what you are talking about.
I have closely followed the US military since I joined the Army in 1959.The gutting of the US military continued underClinton. It was well under way before Clinton ever came to the white house, thanks to Dick Cheney, Sec Def and his boss Big Daddy Bush.
"LEAD: Defense Secretary Dick Cheney outlined his long-term plans for reshaping the military today, proposing the elimination of five of the Army's 28 active-duty and reserve divisions and making new investments in costly long-range nuclear programs through the mid-1990's.
As a first step, Mr. Cheney said the Pentagon would cut two of the Army's 18 active divisions in the 1991 fiscal year while holding the Navy roughly constant and continuing spending on the B-2 bomber."
.........
"Under Mr. Cheney's plan, the number of Army and Air Force personnel would be reduced in 1991 to its lowest level in 40 years, a cut that includes the elimination of two active Army divisions, the Second Armored Division at Fort Hood, Tex., and the Ninth Infantry Division at Fort Lewis, Wash.
Mr. Cheney said three additional divisions, one active and two reserve, would be eliminated in the future if the Soviet conventional threat continues to recede. The Pentagon projects reducing active Army strength in five years by 135,000 soldiers, about 18 percent from its current strength of 764,000.
Other reductions that Mr. Cheney said could be made pending completion of arms control efforts includes cutting Air Force tactical fighter wings from 36 to 31, reconsidering plans to build Trident submarines and other ships, and further cuts in the National Guard and the Reserves.
Mr. Cheney also made public a list of 35 domestic and 13 overseas bases that the Defense Department is considering closing, a move that is expected to touch off a political uproar on Capitol Hill."
RE: So your a Democrat ..this makes you wanna go Hemm?
DD, as much as I dislike the Kennedys, JFK didn't start the Vietnam conflict, Truman did. We were involved in Vietnam starting in 1945. Since Truman was also a Democrat, it still makes the same point, just a detail, but most people don't know Vietnam was our longest continual engagement.

This is somefine trash.
"11 December, 1941: Germany and Italy declare war on US
[/align]Germany and Italy have announced they are at war with the United States. America immediately responded by declaring war on the two Axis powers.
Three days ago, US President Franklin Roosevelt announced America was at war with ***an, the third Axis power, following the surprise attack on its naval base at Pearl Harbor.
Today Italian dictator, Benito Mussolini, made his declaration first - from the balcony over the Piazza Venezia in Rome - pledging the "powers of the pact of steel" were determined to win.
Then Adolf Hitler made his announcement at the Reichstag in Berlin saying he had tried to avoid direct conflict with the US but, under the Tripartite Agreement signed on 27 September 1940, Germany was obliged to join with Italy to defend its ally ***an.
"After victory has been achieved," he said. "Germany, Italy and ***an will continue in closest co-operation with a view to establishing a new and just order."
He accused President Roosevelt of waging a campaign against Germany since 1937, blamed him for the outbreak of war in 1939 and said he was planning to invade Germany in 1943."
