Turkey launches ground operation in Iraq

The ground operation started after Turkish warplanes and artillery bombed suspected rebel targets on Thursday, the military said on its Web site. The incursion was backed by the Air Force, the statement said

Much like the Palestinians, the Kurds need to realize that they have no legal claim to anyone else's sovereign territory, and no ancestral ties to back up any such claims anyway since both are historically nomadic cultures. They're sealing their own doom, the Turks will either wipe them out, or at the very least drive them out of Turkey permanently. Their bestbet for an independantstate lies in Iraq, but since they're squatting on some of Iraq's largest oilfields I don't hold much hope for their chances there either.
