Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Bush: Pakistan vote 'victory in war on terror'

Washington has poured billions of dollars in aid into Musharraf's government in in an effort to contain the threat of Islamic extremism along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/02/20/pakistan/index.html

Earlier Wednesday Musharraf said he intends to remain in office and work with the new government, despite calls by the opposition to step down.

Musharraf told the Journal he cannot say whether the opposition will try to work with him or force him out.

"I appreciate the fact that President Musharraf has done exactly that which he said he was going to do," Bush said. "He said he would hold elections, he said he would get rid of his emergency law. And so it's now time for the newly elected folks to show up and form their government.

"And the question then is, will they be friends of the United States? And I certainly hope so. We view Pakistan as an important ally."

......Musharraf's term ends in 2012...unless they kill him first...[8D]

If Sharif somehow claws his way back into power, we can kiss that alliance goodbye...

I hear that, I believe the elections were for parliment and not a new president. He's not going anyhere apparently.

Newspaper article I found just nowsays,

The new government, expected to be installed by mid-March, will determine how to tackle the country's formidablle challenges, including rising prices and the threat from Islamic extremism.
Pakistan's new leaders must also decide how to deal with Musarraf.

....Pakistan is mostly a muslim nation, 120 million i believe.

...looks like they are going to meet with other opposition leaders to form a government of national unity. And anyone involved with Musarraf up until now will not be included...

This is going to get interesting.
