Ive been up since 3:30 this morning, Ive had the radio on.For 3 hours now its been nothing but talk about congress investigating steroid use in major leauge baseball.Maybe im just tired but why in the hell is congress involved in this?The economies going downhill, were in a war, weve been over run with illegal aliens, and thier arguing about weather or not Clemmons has used steroids in the past.Is this really something that should be a priority for our government?[>:]

I think it's better than that.

Baseball appears to be the opiate of the masses (now that Religion has been declared anathema by the libs).
Therefore, the DEMOCRAT-LED "House Government Reform Committee" (chaired by Henry Waxman, a Kalifornia Demokrat), feels that jocks shootin' up in the clubhouse is more all-consuming than supporting the war effort.
It's a diversionary tactic to take people's attention away from the greatly improving situation in Iraq which, until quite recently, the dems were ready to give up for lost and whom had labelled the commander over there as 'General Betray Us'. They are a bunch of spinelss, amoral, corrupt and stinking bunch to be sure.

and YES, HOCKEY IS MUCH BETTER THAN BASEBALL, even if the NJ Devils are not as good as the
NY RANGERS !! They're certainly more exciting than the Jankees and the Schmetts....

As I've said before, if major league sports had cleaned up their act of their own accord instead of sitting on their hands raking in billions there wouldn't have been any excuse for Congress to waste their time and our money getting into this turd hunt.

I agree that the steroid issue is major league sports is really less important that other things Congress should be discussing. However, baseball got itself an exemption from the law as to monopolies, so it must reap congressional oversight from what it has sown.

Yes, Congress is full of idiots. But I'd rather hear them discuss insignificantissues like sports scandals than something likenew federal tax increases.
