There has been a shooting at Northern Illinois University, which many of you have probably heard by now. The witnesses say the guy was blasting away with a 12 gauge.
I think we need to go police state on college campuses. We'll need to if there's any hope of killing off the nutjobs roaming around looking for vengeance.
This is one reason we shouldn't press people who don't belong in school to go anyway. You're setting the weaker ones up for disaster.
WHAT???????? You mean he didn't obey the gun free zone...... Or as Uncle Ted calls them.... legislated helplessness zone.
He wasn't even enroled in the university so how was he able to get past all of the people that were supose to be protecting the actualstudents? How did he get a gun into a gun free zone. Not to mention a shotgun and at least one other pistol.
Wherewere the policewhile he was killing and whyweren't they there to protect the students????? This can't be possible can it? Isn't this who we are suppose to rely on to keep us alive in places like this?
The Teachers that are entrusted with the students didn't step up and protect the students?
How can something like this happen in a state with such strict gun laws? Especially on a university campus inside such a state? Aren't all of the legislated gun laws suppose to protect people from things like this?
I can't believe all of the laws that Illinois has didn't keep a criminal from getting a gun and killing people. I am in such shock!

Universities are the ultimate target-rich environment. Almost guaranteed unarmed targets and usually the worst police force in the area to respond. The schools have to face some liability for creating these conditions or it will never stop.

Great point. There is FAR too much emphasis placed on going to college. Great advice for many, but not for all.
no guns allowed on campuses? yet this is where all the shootings seem to be taking place? I'm all for concealed weapons permits and allowing them on campus, just like Virginia tech shooting, had a student been trained/ready less injured/dead, maybe none. what good is a concealed permit if youcan't bring them everywhere? this is crazy, every state needs a concealed carry permit.
