Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Well, I see him as a social progressive for his day. Doubt that he would have supported gay marriage.

I'm not sure what the news is here. Isn't that like commissioning a poll that says some gun owners vote Democrat? Or that some tree huggers vote Republican? That some Christians vote Democrat is a duh statement, I think.

Aught, Jesus was a liberal, in the purest sense. But the sense in which he was a liberal and the fundamentals of today's liberalism movement are far, far different, I think.

Hey, you always have to put the attention-getter in there. Certainly Jesus was not a Clintoncrat. And these exit polls might be a load of crap. But I'm curious to know if evangelicals really are getting fed up with the greed, corruption, and sexual impropriety plaguing some of the Republican establishment. Are social issues as a whole more important than Roe vs. Wade? Have these professional politicians of the GOP taken business as usual so far that they're losing their idealistic base?

I doubt it. If anything, most Christians who vote according to their religion strictly enough to be defined as the oft-mentioned "evangelical," they're TOO forgiving of the black sheep of the party.

No, I think if we look at exit polls from the 2004 and 2000 presidential elections, we'll see similar numbers to what the above poll found.
