Default record cold - pro Global Warming people step up !

Quote:
-40 in International Falls ......... The previous record low in International Falls was 37 below, set in 1967, said meteorologist Mike Stewart at the weather service in Duluth. The cold was expected, he said: "When the winds finally died off and the skies cleared off, it just dropped."

The temperature also fell to 40 below in Embarrass, 80 miles southeast of International Falls. That's just one degree above the all-time record in Minneapolis, 250 miles to the south, that was set in January 1888, the weather service said.

1 degree from 120 year lows - where are you global warming fanatics now ? Oh sure, say its a glitch, say its all part of it, but if this was record WARMS ? Ya'll would be crawling out of the woodwork with screams of how its proof of global warming !

Yes, based upon a review of the weather data from one day, we can confidently declare a million-year climate trend to be invalid.

Alot of people confuse weather change with climate change. Weather is what occurs on any given day in any given place. You can/will have extreme ups and downs on any given day compared to the statistical norm. The climate, as scientist refer to it, is the grand aggregate of a large backlog of weather data.

The Climate is SLOWLY warming, but the Weather will not allways reflect that on any give day; but long term aggregates will.

Yes.

I love that word, "aggregate". Whenever I use it, though, I either get blank stares or questions about my dad working at the gravel pit mine.

Of course not, the earth is only 6,000 years old. OT says so.

Ice cores and tree rings have done a heck of a job recording historic climate patterns we either neglected to record or werent around to see.

And some of that data showed periods much warmer today, with much higher levels of CO2 even before man had any impact. And guess what? The polar bears survived! Don't buy what the snake oil salemen are peddling!

Theres no doubt whatsoever that Earth goes through cyclical cooling and warming trends. They've been around before man, and will be around after. Man's action cannot stop, or initiate theses trends, but there is evidnece to suggest that we are increasing the rate of our current change. There is concern that our impact may push the current warming to further extremes than historically recorded.
