Watch Huckabee on American Morning Monday. (CNN) "” Mike Huckabee continued to cry foul Monday over the results in Saturday"™s Washington State GOP caucuses, saying the state party chairman's decision to call the race there early for John McCain is reminiscent of elections in communist bloc nations.
"That is not what we do in American elections," Huckabee said on CNN's American Morning Monday. "Maybe that's how they used to conduct it in the old Soviet Union, but you don't just throw people's votes out and say, 'well, we're not going to bother counting them because we kind of think we know where this was going.'
In a statement released Sunday, Huckabee's campaign said Washington's GOP Party Chairman Luke Esser called the race for McCain when Huckabee was only losing to the Arizona senator by 242 votes and over 1,500 votes remained to be counted. Esser has said he remains confident he made the right call.
Speaking on CNN, Huckabee said the campaign has sent lawyers to the state to formally challenge the result.
"I was just stunned," Huckabee said. "It's the kind of thing that Republicans across America, not just in Washington State, ought to be outraged over."
The former Arkansas governor also brushed aside McCain's claim of being the presumptive nominee, citing his wins in Kansas and Louisiana over the weekend.
"As long as my guys are waving their pompons, we'll stay on the field," he said of his White House bid.

RE: Huckabee: Washington State vote like the Soviet Union
I beleive our election prossess is foul to start with!, take the deligate votes for instance!, how can one state devide them up to all the canidates and others give them all to one!, to me that is stateing, your vote really doesnt count if you live in one of those states. Also, I beleive all the polls should open for voteing at one time, say 11:00 am eastern, close 11:00 am eastern the following day, count no votes until after 11:01 am eastern on the following day!, this will stop the western states from decideing the outcome due to the exit polls in the east!. I also think it should be baced on the vote, not a delegate or electoral vote!.

Huckabee should be outraged as anyone would be... That was just wrong to declare McCain the winner in Washington when the election isn't over yet. [:@]
RE: Huckabee: Washington State vote like the Soviet Union
Like Washington would make a difference anyway. Yeah, we all know that's conservative Baptist minister territory up there...
I understand Huckabee's complaint, but the man is bordering on delusion at this point. Unless McCain dies, Huck is out. If this were the Soviet Union, whiners like him would be bleeding face-down in a ditch by now.

Aught Six - Using that logic, lets forego the 2008 Election and just put either Obama or Hillary in, because no way a Republican wins anyway, right ?
Thats the whole POINT of an election, to vote count, and from that process a winner comes.
I didn't even know elections and vote counting could be stopped - close call or blow out either one ???
There's quite a difference between the primary and general elections. Even so, if Hillary had almost three times as many electoral votes as McCain, I don't think there would be much point (or much honor) forol'John towhine about it. It smacks of Gore following the 2000 election.
I think the votes should be counted in every state. Still, Huckabee's a fool if he thinks he can make up for such a lopsided contest in the few states remaining...

I for one will dare say whinning or not I admire that someone is demanding justice and standing up for themselves.
Isn't that what we need right now? In all honesty this makes Huck look a bit better to me, ecspecially when he's standing next to clinton and obama.
