Vote republican, support McCain, and hope he gathers a running mate I can get behind, .... and hope he also makes some good appointments to his cabinet and support staff. He doesn't thrill me in every aspect, but it's been some time since that happened anyway. I prefer the republican party to be in charge even if it means that it won't be in exaclty my direction right now.
I will also vote for McCain, maybe he will pick Fred Thompson for a running mate, that would take some of the stink out of it.

4.) Vote 3rd party or independent, depending upon who's running.
If McCain can convince me between now and November that he's really changed, I might vote for him. But it's going to take a lot of convincing. I'm just not convinced that someone is suddenly conservative simply because they showed up at CPAC on an election year after snubbing the conference for several years running. Or that they're suddenly Republican after considering running with an ultra-liberal (John Kerry) in 2004. If McCain can convince me that he will appoint Supreme Court justices with a strong constitutionalist viewpoint, will forget about the ridiculous McCain-Kennedy amnesty bill and work towards securing the borders, that he'll veto any assault weapons ban that reaches his desk, and that he won't sign a bill reversing the partial-birth abortion ban, then I'll vote for him. Is that asking for too much?

I'll vote for Mac... already voted for him once a few days ago... as long as the base will support him he'll beat hilary... and frankly, I think that his best chance revolves around hilary winning the nomination... it will galvanize the base and I'm betting they start changing their minds if it looks like hilary is gonna win... I bet they turn out in droves to keep her out... every republican i know wants another shot at beating a clinton

I trust politicians mighty little no matter what party they are members of. I also think that there has been a stalemate in this country for way too long. McCain is about the best guy I could think of to actually get both sides talking and working together. That is what we need in this country and that is why he will get my vote. I don't agree with him on everything, but I think he is someone who is at least reasonable and can see both sides of the issue. I can't expect too much more from any politician.
