All hard working, tax paying,American citezens, need to wake up and smell the coffee!, esspecialy the states that still need to vote in the primaries!. The number one issue should be the economy, every election that has come around in the past has had politisians boasting about how they are going to make it better, problem is, they never can answer to how they are going to do it!. Former Gov. Mike Huckabee, has not only pulled the state of Arkansas out of debt in the past, made it possible for small bussiness to prosper,he has also answered how he plans on doing it if he becomes Prez. Fair Tax, do away with income tax and put a across the board sales tax, this is nothing new, it has been adressed in the past, but too many liberals talk it down, wont let it be explained to the American people. Well here is my version, instead of paying 35 to 40% out of your paycheck "depending which state you reside" you keep it all, now instead of haveing 350.00 bring-home you now have 490.00, you go to the store and pick up some supplies, you pay 24 to 28% sales tax, less than you pay now!, not only are you paying the 35 to 40% out of your paycheck, your also paying 6 to I think 9% on top of that as a sales tax " to me that is paying taxes on taxes!. As projected in the past, a 24 to 28% sales tax will make enough of a surplus in 3 to 5 years to were it can be regulated down to a lower percentage!, that certainly sounds pretty good to me!. You ask, how is this fair, Ill tell you!, you will spend the same amount as you normally do, just a little easier, a rich man is still going to buy his expensive toys " 350,000.00 yacht well you figure the math at 24 to 28%, now here is were it gets real fair!, the sorry as#es that dont pay taxes " crack smoken, baby makeing welfare whores, illegal under the table paid imagrants " are now going to pay as much taxes as you and me!.
Face it, Hitlary, Obama, and McCain has had more than enough chances to make changes in the past, they are by the way, law makers!, they make the desisions to put across the Prez. desk and to have the Americans best intrest in mind! unfortuneatly, they just have the special intrest groups on their minds.
Family values is the next thing on the agenda!, Romney dont know were he stands on this issue!, one day he is for pro-choice, next day he is for pro-life, just depending on who he is talking to at the time I guess!. Hitlary and Obama think that two men or two women can get married and lead a normal life, what a crock!, if that were the case then there wouldnt be such a thing as AIDS, what in the world are we trying to teach our children here!. This whole subject is so screwed up that Im getting pissed of even writeing about it, I am by no means POLITICALY CORRECT!!!
Last but not least, THE SECOND ADDMENDMENT, THE RIGHT TO BEAR ARMS!!!, well if you live in Massechusetts you already know were Im going, you know its funny if you think about it, when Romney started to campain, he came out all for the second admendment, funny, in his state, you need to get a permit to even buy a hunting rifle, which the permit needs to be renewed every four years, if for some reason the state feels you shouldnt have a gun" nothing to do with federal laws" you need to turn it in to your local P.D. Now lets talk about an AR15 LOL!, maybe if you have a local club that just might be able to have the permit, you can purchase one, leave it at the club and go shoot it now and then. No private sales unless it goes through the police dept., sell one of your firearms to an individual, you need to record his name, address, and phone number, take it to your P.D. for it to be recorded, when you buy you also need to do this!. If this isnt gun control, I dont know what is!, Im not even going to go to the other side on this one, we all know what the outcome will be!. Oddly enough though, Mike Huckabee not only has always supported the second admendment, he also practices it, he has a valid CCW and uses it!, nough said!.
Bottom line we need to support Mike Huckabee, he may not be perfect, but nobody is, I do think if we want to get our country back on its feet we need to get him elected!. We also need to start doing a better job on who we elect for all of our leaders, it starts from your local elections all the way up to congress and the senate!, we need politisians to work for us, not special intrests groups.
Here is another issue on this so called "fair tax" malarkey....How many jobs will this concept destroy? How many people are employed by the IRS, sustain their families based on utilization of their accounting skills during tax season? Really, this is a fairly good sized industry that puts bread and butter on the table for countless families. I just wonder how Huckabee can be claiming to increase jobs, when his one main economic goal tanks an industry of a couple million dependents?

As far as the state and local sales tax, that is figured into the final number, it will be disberced in the same manner that it already is, state x .04, local x .03 the rest goes to the feds.
Yes some jobs in the IRS will be abolished, some will have to go out and get new jobs, OH-WELL!!! you know the old saying "lifes a bitch!", how many of the countless families in the past have had to make due, find new jobs because the small bussiness employer they worked for could no longer keep up with the drastic increasing taxes they have to put out to the IRS, how many lost their jobs in the big bussinessdistrict when their employer took his company out of the United States because of the increaseing taxes!, come on people, WAKE UP!. I can tell you from personal experience, operating a small bussines today is a hard thing to do!, between payroll taxes, workers comp, regular bills and keeping equipment updated, it becomes a wash with the economy we have today!, that is why so many people are looseing their jobs!.
Bottom line, like I posted befor, he is not perfect, but he is the best canadate running that has some answers to deal with the problems we are faceing.
This is the first and only time I've seen reference to the state and local sales tax being included in that national sales tax number. Unless you've got a reliable source, I don't believe it. At the rates they're talking about, there's no way it would generate the anticipated levels of revenue.
Edit: By the way... It's not 24% to 28% that's being proposed, it's 30%.
Maybe if McCain would somehow die before the election and Huckabee was second in the total delegate count where he would then be named the nominee would he have a chance to be president-elect. Otherwise you can forget about it!
I have read the book, and the real tax rate is 30%, they claim that it's 23% because they factor it as "inclusive" but that's not how you calculate a sales tax. If you read deaper into the propsoal they'll tell you that if you buy $1 of stuff, you'll pay $1.30 with the fair tax. Also, the state and local income taxes aren't included in the 30%, they will be additional. (which btw in WV is 6% statewide, but not sure if any of the bigger cities have additional sales taxes or not). I believe there are a lot of dubious claims in this proposal and am not a supporter (however I do like Huckabee except for this and his extreme religous views)
You only have to read to page two of the executive summary to show that you're wrong. "H.R. 25 calls for the replacement of the current personal and corporate income taxes, payroll taxes, adn the estate and gift taxes in a revenue neutral manner." I don't see anywhere in the document where it says that the "fair tax" will also replace state and local sales taxes or state and local income taxes. It is a federal tax plan, not a state tax plan.
See also, Page 9: "The act would repeal the federal income tax (including the capital gains tax and the alternative minimum tax, the corporate income tax, federal payroll taxes, the self-employment tax, and the estate and gift tax."
Clearly, it does NOT include state and local sales taxes. Did you read it? Only took me three minutes to debunk your little myth.
I'm curious, since employers will no longer have to pay their half of social security and medicare taxes, will the law mandate that those funds be added to employees' salaries?
By the way... just so you don't think I'm picking on your candidate, of the few in the scrum, Huckabee is my favorite as well. I just don't think it serves his candidacy to have folks putting out misleading information (including the myth that the "fair tax" is 23%)...

I don't favor one guy over another, I'm just looking at the current state of things -- delegate counts, Romney withdrawing (and certainly planning to pass his delegates to McCain), all point to an insurmountable edge for McCain. The battle is over.
