Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Bush Declares War On Earmarks

President Bush to Curtail Congressional Earmarks

***

Cutting $9.5 billion worth will be easier said than done, particularly with the crowd we have on the Hill today. Still, I applaud this move. Let's see if anything comes of it.

The only thing that was pissed away was the perscription drug BS we didn't need. The good news is the fact that he did sign the order today and now it becomes a campaign question this fall. "Will you reverse this executive order if you are elected?"

the funnies thing about the "war on earmarks" that he announced was that every single jack@$$ legislator stood up and gave him a standing ovation over it......these are the people that are responsible for the dang things, and they could do something about it if they wanted.

Thats my point we have a leadership void large enough that the wake from the Queen Mary couldn't put a drop of water in it.

The Republican congress came into office sworn to fight pork. Then they proceeded to take porkbarrel spending to heights never seen before. Earmarks are drastically reducedfrom thelast budget passed by the Republican congress.17.5 billions in porkwere approved byWya for this budget year: Why didn't he just veto it all?Beginning in October, there will be another round of continuing resolutions until Wya leaves office.Yep, Wya is going to crack down on pork, after he leaves office.

Call me crazy, but I think we're going to see some shaking up of Congress this year. American voters are PO'ed, and they seem to distrust Congress more than the White House.

We all hear a lot of promises, but that doesn't mean I'm content to ignore this one. Spending is the problem. My gawd, if we can get them to save a dollar it'll be a miracle. Let's not cut off our nose despite our face. I suggest making noise with an email to your senator and reps.

The reason you don't see a shakeup in Congress very often is because people give congress overall a piss poor rating, however they all think that their Congressmen aren't the problem, it's everyone elses.
