I havent been on the forum in a long while so forgive me if this is something that has been beaten to death here, but I am having one of my bored saturdays looking on youtube and every video on there paints Blackwater USA as an evil company, hell bent on undermining our country.
Until this point I have looked at them as a highly skilled organization of Men and Woman doing a job just like any of us. I dont have anything against mercenaries, in fact i think that they are extremely effective and the fact that they dont have to listen to the Rules of Engagement or sometimes the Geneva Convention seems to be a good thing when fighting an enemy that doesnt abide by rules either. I have long supported the Concept because what many liberals dont realize is that they make up a force and take on jobs so soldiers dont have to. This enables the need for fewer soldiers which in our modern day and age means no draft. The Idea of Mercinaries is as old as warfare, but i think that they are getting the short end of the stick. The only literary sources I have seen are from an ANTI-ALL WAR, Anti-Merc, Left view on the matter so theyr are of no help.
What concerns me about Blackwater is that they do not take an oath like soldiers do to protect the american people. They do not have federal laws that keep them from being used on the american people.
I know they were used in New Orleans after Katrina; What do you think about that? Any first hand experience?
My concern lies with our troubled economy and the potential hildbeast presidency. Would any legislature against this organization cause them toact against us?
would they attack this country if hired by a foriegn power?
would theyact onAmerican Citizens if the US MILITARY refuses?
would they act against the Government if hired by the masses?
Just a few questions that I am curious to hear your opinions about. I really respect these guys and I guess I just wanna make sure I know all that I should about the matter. Moreover I respect many or your opinions and views so I really wanna knowwhat do you all think?
Blackwater is the largest but feel free to talk about the industry in general.

I have worked in the industry. Downsizing of the military is the best thing to happen to the merc business in years. They do jobs the military is incapable of doing at present force levels. Even though mercs make more money than government soldiers, their cost per mission is lower than the army. The same people complaining about mercs are the same ones who want to cut the defense budget and downsize the military, which created the industry in the first place. These are also the same folks who want to disarm citizens, arm criminals, and then make it illegal for citizens to buy body armor to protect themselves from criminals' bullets. Liberal logic is an oxymoron.
So... question... do you use regular gun oil on that thing or gold polish? Whats the INSIDE of the barrel like?
I think that blackwater and companies like them are helping much more than they are harming anything. People who don't understand the military or politics or blackwater for that matter are the ones who want to put an end to all of that. A few months ago there were posters all over the campus I attend about how Blackwater is evil and all that crap that comes with a liberal campus, so I posted another paper over it that basically said that they're doing a job that has to be done and they are keeping the need for a draft out of the question due to their availability and successful abilites. Ifthey honestly wanted to make a difference in the world instead of just b!tch about everything they would have joined the military, but apparently they haven't got the grapes.
