Default Who on here enjoys Civil War History?

I would enjoy discussing civil war history with and of you guys who are interested in this subect. I have always been interested in the war between the states and I think it would bea lot of funto discuss it with other like minded memebers of the forum ....of course being from Alabama you know where my loyalties lie ...let me know if you have an interest in this subject and let the discussion begin !

You and my wife would get along well, she really loves anything related to The Late Unpleasantness. I prefer WW2 personally.

That makes sense,the personal aspects of the civil war are not talked about in history books. The bartering between sides was eye opening for me.

Since the loser of any conflict isn't decided until after the hostilities have ended a person has a base chance of 50-50 that they'll end up on the losing side...

"looser" ??? A reply like that is what I would expect from a yankee .... yep the south lost the war but it sure made the north pay for it .... considering the union army numbered over 2.5 million and the southern army 1.4 million ...almost two to one ...and all the industrial might of the north ... yep I guess they sure showed us !

I have some relation to a Civil War vet. Jason Neal was in the 8th Tenn. Cav. but it merged with other units. Can't find out much about it.
