TYLER, Texas "” A man killed his girlfriend, then filleted and cooked parts of her body before calling police to tell them what he was doing, authorities said Sunday.[/b]
You know, if you put a bone through his nose, he'd look a little like thosetribesmen from Papua-New Guinea. He picked the wrong state to murder someone in. Insanity plea or not, he's toast...
I understand the execution machine in Texas is presently halted while awaiting a decision by the US Supreme Court on whether this may constitute cruel and unusual punishment. At issue is not the finality or magnitude of the death sentence itself, but whether some pain might be experienced by the specific drug cocktail administered in Texas. I have a modest suggestion.
Texas is a great and prosperous state blessed with ample and considerable financial and intellectual resources. I suggest that we breed giant venomous spiders which can paralyze the condemnedand inject them with chemicals that turn the insides of the condemned to puss which is then siphoned off by the giant venomous spider. This would serve the dual fold purpose of feeding the spider and also terminating the life of the condemned. As is customary, witnesses may be present -- behind a protective but transparent screen -- to observe the execution, perhaps including family members needing the closure and satisfaction of observing justice served upon the condemned. Under the circumstances, there would be no need to lash the condemned to a gurney or secure them to a chair, as is the case for the prior execution methods. No, the condemned would be let free within the secured enclosure. The giant venomous spider would be admitted through an appropriately sized trap door. As I understand the process, these giant venomous spiders may inject some local anaesthecizing compounds so that the actual puncture wound would be painless to the condemned, thereby overcoming the cruel punishment clause. Asfor the unusual punishment clause, Texas would overcome this within a brief period of time as the repeated practice of this method would soon make it usual rather than unusual.

RE: Sick BBQ ?
I dont think the Supreme Court will knock out lethal injections. To do so would be to find surgery unconstitutional. Isn"™t the same anesthesia used before the lethal injection, that is used before surgery? If not, why? Ive had several surgeries and I dont remember feeling any pain.
