Republicans have ran on this platforum before. The only thing that they're not too enthused about is sending ALL of our troops home. Like Paul, I don't see how having troops over in Europe, Korea, and ***an helps our national security. Europe can defend themselves.

LOL, are you serious? If you had read your history and taken a look around the worldtoday, you'd understand that Europe and ***an
can't defend themselves. They've never had a reason to--we've been there with all our might since 1945. That was whole idea. Keep our former enemies militarily weak so they don't try anything against us, but protect them in order to foster the rise of democratic governments and societies. If we were to pull out today, both the EU and ***an would be terribly vulnerable.
North Korea has nukes. South Korea has a formiddable military that is superior to the North in both training and weapons, but the Korean War is still going on. We can't back out without some kind of resolution to the conflict.
All of that aside, though, maintaining an international presence militarily not only keeps our armed foes in check, but protects our global commerce and trade as well. If we were to pull out of Europe, we'd be handing the Russian Federation the keys to the continent. And if we were to leave South Korea and ***an, the western Pacific Rim would fall into China's hands.
The world is a pretty big place. Even with modern communication, diplomacy, and arms, we can't run things from Washington alone.
