I have a question is this republic ready for president who is not white?I say no the Secret Service will play he@@ if by some chance(and there is always a chance)Obama gets the Democratic nomination and wins the presidency.Thoughts?

Too inexperienced like the rest of those put up by the Dems. No one can't point to anything any of them has done to even remotely qualify them to serve as the Pesident. I've asked but have never got a response.

he'll be fine, i think (and hope) the country is ready for a non-white pres... though i was hopin for someone more along the lines of JC Watts or Armstrong Williams

Not along the lines of JC Watts for sure. This idiot was our congressman. He did nothing for any of his constituents and he forgot to tell us when he ran the first time that he has three out of wedlock kids by three different women.
I don't see how his color matters. The fact that he's a liberal democrat makes him totally unqualified for ANY political office as far as I'm concerned.

does the fact that he has three out of wedlock kids make him a bad person/politician? cmon, how wives has rudy had? he had his ex forcibly removed from gracie mansion, had his mistress living their prior to getting married, etc... clinton dorked a govt clerk in the oval office... jfk was bonin marilyn... W has a well documented substance abuse problem... just don't see an issue here...

I think this is a non-issue. It is kind of like a woman president. I would initially say "A woman president, I don't think so! They lack backbone. They can't make cruel, hard decisions, they don't have the grit!" Then I think of Margaret Thatcher and I think of a number of US women senators -- women can make the cruel, hard decisions, and they can have the backbone, witness Margaret Thatcher and other women who have risen to political office. The right candidate is seen for their intrinsic capabilities, leadership, charisma, ability to articulate issues and initiatives -- sex and race become irrelevant. Do we pay particular attention to the fact that US Supreme Court Justice Thomas is a black or that he is a supporter of the Second Amendment and an originalist and a conservative? (I'm not sure all of those things are applicable to Thomas, but they might be)
Its actually a pretty significant issue. I personally know middle age and elderly southern Democrats that would not vote for a black guy if you put a gun to their head. The same is true for some mens' attitudes toward a female candidate. Qualifications don't matter to folks like that.
