Default mike huckebees fair tax this is a must read

ok i went and looked up the fair tax mike huckabee is proposing

OK people under the poverty level can buy 7500 dollar worth of stuff before paying states that works out to 2254 worth of sales taxes you would pay

so if you make 9800 a ear and spend it all on taxable products you pay 527 dollars in tax's for for every 9800 you pay 527 dollar not bad
but people on ssi who do not pay any tax's nowwill pay 30 plus the state tax that everyonepays if he gets his way it removes the tax responsibility from the rich tot he poor because rich people do not spend all there money they invest it so if you pay 50 income tax and make 500000 and invest 350k you will only pay tax's on 150k of it so how is that fair for poor people because poor people who spend all there money will pay 30% of there income out no matter what
so what that comes to is the middle class will pay more and it will hit the poor people who some of which are on ssi the hardest

is that really right do not vote for anyone supporting this unfair tax

also city state and federal governments will be forced to pay the fair tax as well which means to give the same service to the people they must raise there tax's which mean higher property tax's

here is the link i got all this from
http://www.fair-tax.org/NST.html#Poverty

Have fun, I am not a fan or supporter (until I see a lot more data to show that it is good) of the fair tax but many here are and you're likely to get some lively discussion.

after reading the webpage, it does bring up some very valid points that I had problems with after reading the book, but where did this page come from, who wrote it, I really need some background for this too.

I wouldn't get too excited about any tax reform or "Fair Tax" proposal no matter who suggests it.

The tax system is used to promote various versions of social policy, not just to collect revenue.

People tend to get excited because the first thought is, "I will get to pay less tax if we have a 'Fair Tax.'" Ain't gonna happen friends.

If you want a "fairer" tax system, you need to focus on the value of the social policy towards which a particular tax provision is aimed. There is surely room for reform there.

well to me the thing is if you spend all you income which most all middle and lower class people do and not pay the income tax which is like 23% well if you spend all your money you are still paying taxes but 30% not the 25 or so it is now
it hurts the poor people explicitly the people on social security and not paying income tax now i read a page supporting the fair tax as well but it had no data or information beside support this tax and you will pay less in taxs and make it fair for everyone i wont to see some data from the supporters that shows poor people will not pay more then rich people
the law also has a part that replies the 16th amendment that says no one under the poverty level pays tax if poor people do not pay taxs why do they need to do that

the fair tax is not 23 it is 30 plus your state tax of what ever it is
they say it is 23 but if you pay a dollar for something after taxes it is a 1.30 so that is 30% i am sure all the rich people and people making say 50,000 a year would like it but what about the poor people making 10000 a year and not paying fed tax most low and middle income people pay no income tax for federal so with the fair tax you will get no refund it will be all tax money gone to the state how much is your refund a yea for get about it after the fair tax if you do not invest your money your going to pay

Thats what I was thinking!! Heck, my boss got TAXED $33,000 a few years ago (landscape contractor). All small business owners wouldn't mind paying less taxes! Its insane!!
