Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default to Huckabee or not to Huckabee.....

I am somewhat 'on the fence' with regards to the republican candidates and which one to support.
I had considered Huckabee, but was hearing 'snippets' of information regarding his leftward leanings.
I was going to discount these things, but after reading from the below link, I believe Mitt Romney will be getting my vote. What a disgrace that the Republicans can't field a pro-gun candidate....

Anyway, I know the author of the below article is a provocateur, but sometimes she makes sense and is always entertaining. I would like to hear some of the group's comments on the article....

First of all, if you watch Fox News channel, when Hannity& Colmes comes on, and they get Ann Coulter on as a guest, you'd soon realize thatAnn Coulter is a Mitt Romney supporter, pretty staunch, in fact, so this doesn't surprise me.

I honestly don't believe there's a better candidate than Huckabee is right now, that's conservative enough, but other than Huckabee, I like McCain, he's got excellent foreign policy experiance, something Huckabee lacks by the bushel, but the only problem is, if Clinton gets the Democratnomination, McCain getsthe Republican, McCainwould just be another Bob Dole, same situation, war vet, hero, experiance in government, but not energetic, doesn't look very appealing, the same reason Dole lost against Clinton.
Now, online, people are shouting Ron Paul, well, I say this, many have tried being isolationist, claiming that leavingterrorists/Communists alone willmake them leave us alone, the French tried this(that worked out great.....not), and Jimmy Carter also did, and we all know that in these days, another Carter is just what we don't need.

But, like I said, the only thing that truly worries me about Huckabee is the total lack of foreign policy experiance, I think that if Huck and McCain teamed up, with Huckabee running as the president, and McCain to be the running mate, I think McCain needs to be in the White House, but he's not going to get there without Huckabee as president.

With the flameout of Fred Thompson, we have one pro-gun Republican who stands a chance of being POTUS-Huckabee. It behooves us to get behind him and give him our support. Will say it again:Vote forMcCain, Romney or Rudy Baby and you are voting for a dedicated anti-gunner:

1. McCain: Voted for every feel good gun control plan to come down the pike.
2. Romney: Dedicated anti gunner from the start of his political career. Ask the PRMA legislature to pass an AWB. Signed the PRMA AWB into law.
3. Rudy Baby: Sued US gun makers.

Lack of foreign policy experience does not matter one iota: That is what experienced cabinet members and advisors are for. No one could botch US foreigh policy worse than KlintonandBush II did.

Well, first of all, I pay absolutely no attention to what Ann Coulter has to say.

But I do have concerns about Huckabee, although at this point he's who I will vote for in the primary if he's still in the race on Super Tuesday, which it now appears he will be. I see signs of Jimmy Carter in Huckabee. Like Carter, Huckabee is relatively inexperienced, doesn't appear to have a clue in regards to foreign policy and wears his religion on his sleeve. Carter was the worst president in our history. I want a president whose Christian religion will play a role in his policy making. I don't want a president who plays on his religion to gain the presidency, because every time I see such a candidate, I'm reminded of Carter.

Mitt Romney is my second choice right now, even though his past stance on gun issues concerns me. Because I agree with most of his policies, I'm willing to hope that he is sincere when he says he's had a change of heart, especially when looking at the pitiful rest of the Republican field and their counterparts on the Democrat side.

Exactly.... That's why I am sticking with Huckabee. At least HE is a hunter, an outdoorsman, and holds a CWP!

Baptist preacher or not, inexperienced in foreign policy or not, Huckabee has a good head on his shoulders. He doesn't just say what he thinks people want to hear. He speaks from the heart, and that israre in a politician.

Didn't know that Coulter is a Romney fan. Don't understand why anyone with conservative leaningswould be a Romney fan.

Don't understand why anyone on this site, besides the trolls, would be supporting anyone other than Huckabee or Thompson. Adults can be very confusing.

I agree with either Huck or possibly Mitt. Somehow I can't get behind Thompson. I was pretty excited when he was rumored to run and then when he entered the race. I view his candidacy as a disappointment and really wouldn't consider voting for him at this point. I don't feel he has run an adequate campaign and doubt that he would make a good POTUS based on his performanceso far. The person who gets my vote will have distanced himself from the rest of the field. There is still a lot of time left and things will surely change as the caucuses and primaries get closer. One thing that will refine my vote choice is anyone other than Hillary or Obama. I still feel that any GOP candidate will be able to beat either Hillary or Obama. I would watch Edwards however. He has quietly risen in the polls and the fact that Hillary and Obama are leading most polls might work out for him from a timing standpoint. The person on either party who has a rise in poll numbers nearest the primaries has the advantage. It doesn"™t matter who has been at top during the past 6 months. It is all a timing issue and that will determine who has the push. McCain is starting to gain some ground and I wouldn"™t mark him as done quite yet. A possible liaison between he and Lieberman might have a strong following. If McCain does reasonably well in Iowa and wins in NH he might gain some momentum. If not he is finished and I doubt that Rudy will do much other than to fall in the polls.

Tom T was my man, but he is out of the race now. The more I learn about huck, the less i like about him. i think he is a polished politician who likes folks to think he speaks from the heart. I am amazed that because he totes a gun folks think he is their man. Right now, national security is atop my wish list, and Hucks weak stance on immigration, and obvious lack of foriegn policy expierence, gives him two quick strikes. I just don't buy into Huck, and I certainly don't like the stories that are coming out of Arkansas about him. Additionally, i think Huck would be shredded by the demo attack machine. I can honestly say now that Tancredo is out of the race, I haven't made my mind up on another canidate, but I am leaning toward Thompson. I guess i will keep reading and learning until i can make a decesion, but right now for me, huck is out.

I have some relatives in the Little Rock area who have known Huckabee for years, they are both lawyers, liberals, and anti-gun. They hate his guts. I don't really need to know much else. They loved Bill Clinton back in the day and still do today. Curiously enough, they don't like Hillary, but I don't think it has to do with politics.

and Hucks weak stance on immigration,
His stance has changed considerably since he was governor of Arkansas. He's now despised by LULAC, so he must be doing something right...
