Ok there is a bomb either nuke or bio inlarge city set to go off.

1. Wecapture one of the main players at his home while his wife and his kids are home.

Would you either torture or kill this person's family members in front of them to get him to talk?

2. Kick in the door of an apartment with four suspects there. You find plans for the bomb and materials in the apartment.

Would you grab one of the suspect ask him to talk and wen he said no cut his head off and ask the others "now who wants to talk?"

My answer for all of you that think I'm a liberal. I'd do either with out hesitation in that type of circumstance.

1. I don't think I'd have much reason to think that targeting family members would help the interogation. It's difficult to know what's going on in these people's mind at one particular moment or another. I'm sure everyone would be in fight-or-flight and probably wouldn't be very coherent on a communicative level.

2. What if the guy who's head you just cut off had the answers?

1. I think many people would talk if you started hurting their family members. I start really hurting your daughter while your strapped to a chair watching, your not going to tell me what I want to know to get me to stop?

2. He wasn't talking so that doesn't matter.

I really believe that al Qaeda and some similar organizations have become akin to death cults. I don't think they care much about anyone's life period.

And realistically, for an extremist, death seems like a decent alternative to life in Gitmo...

They know we're going to kill them one way or another. If I were some opium-addictedMuslim extremistwith nothing to my name but my al Qaeda affiliation, I'd be pretty set on pulling off a big attack before I go.

invalid quesitons - those people who will do those kinds of thingwill rarely talk. Kill their whole family, torture them ...... that bomb going off is all they want and know in life and they'll not let you take it from them
