Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default I hardly ever post here...but,

I think this is the best spot for this.
I am going to school for nursing. Now you'd think there is nothing political about this. But, there is a situation that is really boggling my mind.

There is a lady in our class that is from Africa. She is not a U.S. citizen.
[ul][*]She is cheating by stealing our work out of the teachers mailboxes that we are suppose to put our homework in.[*]In clinicals she is rough and rude to the patients[*]She doesn't follow standard cleanliness practices[/ul]
But, here's the political rub....
She gets her entire schooling paid for by you & me via a government grant. Our tax money going to great use[&:]
She is receiving food stamps & free health care, btw, she sends her thanks [&:]
She told some of us that she is receiving a $40,000 student loan that she doesn't intend to pay back.
Then she says that we don't know what it is to be poor. We have it made here in the U.S. & we don't understand what her country is like.

This makes me steam. I just wanted to know if you guys knew that we are giving all of these services away and getting raped as a country? This is just one person. I'm sure there are many people who have figured this system out & are taking advantage of it.
Now...I have a 12 & 16 year old daughters. How am I suppose to send them to college? Will they have the same advantage as outsiders will?
This is mind boggling

My wife just finished nursing school awhile ago, she may be getting a free ride but if she fails her state boards shes never gonna have a nursing license, if shes cheating to get her work done and cant pass her clinicals she may well wind up an overeducated Walmart employee if it makes you feel any better

I know it can be difficult with kids at home and bills to pay so good luck with your classes, hope you do well.

Sunset, this kind of trash is happening all over the US. That person has no intention of ever going back to Africa to help the folks there. She will be another uncaring face with a chip on her shoulder in our medical system.

"vote Liberal Democrats if you want this kind of thing to continue ...."

Looks like it is happeningon the watch ofour Great Decider, Wya. Bush and Bono whipped up a deal to "help Africans."

"give em money over there so they don't come here " ?

In total, Canada is donating $105 million over five years to help train about 40,000 frontline health workers to deliver a wide-ranging list of services, said Harper.
The workers will specifically carry out services such as:
[ul][*]Measles and DPT (diphtheria, pertussis, tetanus) shots to prevent deadly communicable diseases[*]Insecticide-treated bednets to protect children under five and pregnant women from malaria[*]Re-hydration therapy to prevent deaths from diarrhea[*]Antibiotics to fight pneumonia[*]Drugs to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV/AIDS[*]Micronutrients such as vitamin A to fight malnutrition[*]Breastfeeding education for new mothers [/ul]
"These actions are getting real results, including lower rates of HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, increased peace and security, stronger economic growth, and better governance," said Harper.

....Sunset maybe an anonymous letter to the teacher to bring the scheming student to the forefront is in order ? Either that or gather fellow students and approach the teacher directly about the thieving of homework.

Document all that stuff thoroughly, including getting other students to back you up. Then go to the instructor. If he/she won't do anything, then go to the chair of the program. If the chair won't do anything then go to the Dean of the college. If that won't work then threaten to raise a public stink about it.

Americans and American universities promote diversity at any and all costs.

It has some advantages, it has a lot of disadvantages.

We have reported her on all counts. The school is taking action. She is being watched and will probably not be there when we return Monday for next quarter. Good point Lanse.

It still ticks me off that she is getting hand outs from us & confesses very boldly that she isn't going to pay the U.S. back.

Diversity is right here in our own country. Give the money to some kids here that deserve it. We've got more diversity here in the U.S. than possibly any other country in the world, that are our citizens.

I have an idea for the payment back. My dentist, who is a bow hunter from Ohio, got his education paid for by grants. In order to pay it back he worked on an Indian reservation in Montana for as long as it took to pay it back.

What if we paid for our kids to get educations and to pay them back they work in the said field of education for a year to help this country out?

When will we take care of ourselves and stop trying to fix & run the world? There is plenty right here at home that needs fixed, educated, helped.

That kind of stuff makes me angry, too, sunset. Our high school had an exchange student a few years back. He was nowhere close to being a top student, and in fact, he was fairly close to the bottom of the class. Yet he received more financial aid to go to college than all the other students in the class combined. He received a free ride to college, and the government has promised to forgive his loans if he graduates. He will be able to go to college and graduate debt-free simply because he is foreign.[:@]
