Default Another Wisconsin trespassing incident

Quote:
A La Crosse County man is arrested Sunday after firing several shots near hunters that he said were trespassing on his property.
According toDNR Officials, a group of hunters wondered from public access land and trespassed onto private property. The hunters were confronted by the owner of the property, and a dispute occurred that ended with the landowner firing gunshots to scare off the trespassers.
The incident happened around noon at a property on County Road A, in the Township of Farmington, in Northern La Crosse County. The landowner, whose name has not yet been released, was arrested for disorderly conduct while armed. There were no injuries from the incident, and the landowner will have to appear before a La Crosse Circuit Court Judge.DNR Officials believe the hunters did not intentionally trespass onto the property, and that it was a mistake.

Luckily, no one was hurt from this dispute, but there are measures hunters and private landowners can take to ensure incidents like this don't happen. "Every hunter in the field has a responsibility to know where they are and where they're going. Hunters cannot enter private property without permission from the landowner. Now, as far as the landowner goes...if a landowner is having problems with trespassers, the best thing to do is to report that to a local sheriff's department" says Wisconsin DNR Conservation WardenHenry Bauman.
The man was released with a signature bond, and DNRofficials say they are happy the situation was not much worse tonight.
This was the second hunting-related incident during gun deer season in La Crosse county. A hunter was sited for "scoping" aDNR Official during opening weekend.Overall, DNR Officials say this year's gun deer hunt was a slow one. [/align]

My apologies. This is the only link I could find in Google; guess it isn't important enough for the national media.

The problem is that Americans have come to expect this kind of behavior from Wisconsinite hunters.

Heck, that statement in itself is just as bad as somebody shooting towards somebody to scare them off!! IMO

What nationality were the "trespassers"?

I disagree. The problem is that in Wisconsin the trespass laws have no bite to them and America knows this. If Wisconsin had tougher penalties, there would be a lot less problems.
