Have you heard this story? Makes me proud to be from Texas. Here is a link to the full 911 call from Mr. Horn who protected his neighbors property with his shotgun, and ended the crime careers of two scumbags in Pasadena Texas.
Now if he had done that in Montgomery County MD (Lefty USA) he would have been locked up and the Washington fishwrap would jump on the issue of guns again.

RE: No Whining In Texas Home Invasion Shooting
Looks like the castle docrine was adopted in time. Actually, we had provisionsbesides the Castle doctrine to cover our butts, but its nice to have that covering our back as well. Love the story.

The castle doctrine is great, but, I'm not entirely sure it covers this situation. He wasn't protecting his castle or his property, he was protecting his neighbor's. I agree with what he did, but, I'm not sure we've heard the last of this case.

A police investigation is still underway. This case likely will end up in the hands of a Harris County grand jury.
If i recall correctly, several years ago a guy in Texas got away with killing a guy that was trying to repossess his truck. So, i don't think this fellow will have much problem, especially if the other guys were armed in any way.

The operative phrase: "repossess HIS truck." I think castle doctrine only applies when you are protecting your own home or property. I don't think it authorizes you to leave your castle, go next door, and shoot somebody exiting the neighbor's house with the neighbor's property.
An unfortunate oversight that I hope the legislature corrects expeditiously...
Actually my point was that if you can get away with wacking out a guy from a repo company in your driveway, then dropping the hammer on a couple of thieves next door is not that far of a leap. If it was me though, i would make darn sure that i never hired guys from a moving company unless i had told all my neighbors about it [&:]

Hopefully, the grand jury will "no bill" him...
That does make a difference. I read over the article real quick. I missed where it was a neighbors.
