Default Senate Vote Against English Language??

Has anybody seen this email yet? If so, has anybody confirmed if it's true or is there more to the story?

33 Senators Voted Against English as America 's Official Language June 6, 2007

Senators,

Your vote againstan amendment to the Immigration Bill 1348, to make English America'sofficiallanguage is astounding. On D-Day no less when we honor those that sacrificed in order to secure the bedrock character and principles of America . I canonly surmise your vote reflects a loyalty to illegal aliens.

I don't much carewhere you come from, what your religion is, whether you're black, white orsome other color, male or female, democrat, republican or independent, but I do care when you're a United States Senator, representing citizens of America and vote against English as the official language of the United States.

Your vote reflects betrayal, political surrender, violates your pledge of allegiance, dishonors historical principle, rejects patriotism, borders on traitorous action and, in my opinion, makes you unfit to serve as a United States Senator... impeachment, recall, or other appropriate action is warranted.

Worse, 4 of you voting against English as America's official language are presidential candidates: Senator Biden, Senator Clinton, Senator Dodd, and Senator Obama.

Those 4 Senatorsvying to lead America but won't, or don't have the courage, to cast a vote in favor of English as America's official language when 91% of American citizens want English officially designated as our language.

This is the secondtime in the last several months this list of Senators have disgraced themselves as political hacks... unworthy as Senators and certainly unqualified to serve as President of the United States.

If America is as angry as I am, you will realize a back-lash so stunning it will literally rockyou out of your panties... and preferably, totally out of the United StatesSenate.

The entire immigration bill is a farce... your action only confirms this really isn't about America; it's about self-serving politics... despicable at best.

I think making English our official language would be making the right statement. Business could still run ads in Spanish, Slovenian, or Swedish if they choose.

Before they require a second language like Spanish, they should make sure that kids can express themselves effectively in English.

This is nothing more than Internet rabble-rousing. S. 1348 was the Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act of 2007--remember, the billwanted to fail in the Senate? Section 765. contained an amendment making English the national language, but so what? I'm not going to feel any better knowing that everyone is legally require to speak English in the conduct of official business if it means giving amnesty to millions of illegals. I'd vote against that too.

Priorities...

Oh yeah, and the Lincoln quote. Are you kidding me? How does voting against S. 1348, a domestic immigration bill, damage the nation's morale, undermine the military, or sabotage anything in a time of war? I know our troops care about what happens at home, but give me a break...

The bill contained a provision making English the official language. It lost for other reasons, not the least of which were the amnesty provisions. The point still stands, though, that this particular sack full of clowns voted against the amendment that would have made English the official language.

I wonder how many of these jokers voted for the entire bill?

Those senators listed above are either liberals or partisan Democrats (big difference, lol). Their votes shouldn't be a surprise. I don't see the point of this email unless you haven't been paying attention to Congress lately.

I guess I should have specified that I RECEIVED this email and didn't create it. I've found that there is almost always more to the story and usually somebody on this board has that information.
