Yup, it was the fist week of deer gun hunting this weekend. Some of the hunters get a little too crazy aorund this time of year. We get just two weekends a year to hunt with a gun in southern MN, so there are a lot of guys that just shoot at anything hoping they get a deer. Sounds like they were on a drive when the guy got shot in the chest. Also can't remember if it said the guy died, but he did. Too bad this has too happen. Seems like every year it does. Last year a hunter shot a kid in the head, and the kid was wearing his blaze. It sure is sad.

About 5 years ago my wife's cousin's son was killed in a hunting accident. My wife is related to the mom of the kid. Evidently they were doing a deer drive and the kid was coming around a trail on a ATV four wheeler as one of their party shot at a running deer. Shot the kid in the chest with a deer slug. We never really had much to do with that side of the family before that or even to this day. Just a sad thing.

This stuff really gets to me. As much as I hate to say it, there should be more competence tests before one can hunt. A few years ago, a buddy of mine made a new friend at work. This buddy of mine had a sweet lease in Llano and loved it. The buddies new friend bragged of all his bow hunting prowess so my buddy thought he would invite him on a hunt. So my buddy set up the new guy in his favorite stand and went elsewhere. Later on that day, he goes back to check on the new guy. The new guy was on the ground looking around. This buddy of mine asked if the new guy had gotten a deer. The new guy tells him he shot a monster, but wasn"™t sure what it was. That right there worried my buddy. They looked for a blood trail, but never found it. Did a grid search, but no luck. When questioning the new guy, my buddy found out the guy shot in a bush where he heard noise and never saw the animal. Come to find out, later that week, the buddy had lost his lease because the new guy stuck an arrow in one of the land owners bulls. Some people are as dumb as the day is long.

He must have thought he shot the biggest deer ever. What a moron!

Dang burnie.

Glad i don't hunt near that guy. Usually I never have to worry about my own safety during bow season. No matter how wrong it may be to say it. Some people should never be allowed to hunt at all. Truly unbelievable.

Just imagine how pissed my buddy was. He lost a great lease, that he had for years. Also caused bad blood between him and the land owner. He also ended up haveing to buy that bull. He has yet to recover damages from his ex coworker. I let him (buddy that is) hunt my land, which is nothing compared to what he was use to.
