Politics Nothing goes with politics quite like crying and complaining, and we're a perfect example of that.

Default Us supports Turkeys bombing of Kirdish Irac

Well at least they should. It support the destruction of Lebenon when Hesbolla crossed the border and killed 8 Isralies.
What do you think?
To loose Turkey (a stronge NATO allie) since ww-2 for Irac seems like a poor trade to me.

This is a mess. I don't blame the Turkish Army for wanting to crush thePKK on its own turf, but it would be terrible for our interests in Iraq. Even with the sharp drop in al Qaeda and other terrorist attacks, we're not in a position to go rush back to Kurdistan to put down a new war. For our sake, I hope Istanbul keeps its pants on and negotiates with us a while longer. We may be able to pacify Turkey by promising to increase border security. Maybe.

The Turks and the Kurds have been killing each other for a long time, so there's no stopping it. I used to work with an ethnic Greek (Orthodox Christian) Turk who spent his mandatory year in the army out onan eastern border outpost, watching for Kurds smugging people and weapons into Turkey. It's ugly. And as long as we're in the middle of it, we're surrounded by ugly too.

Condi Ricecan only make empty promises to Turkey. The US does not have the troops needed to secure the Kurdish border. If we did have, the Kurd communistswouldgo after the US military. One or two more incidents like the attack on the Turkish army by Kurd communistsandTurkey will own much of northern Iraq. These guys do not fool around.

No kidding. I think congress will learn that shortly unless Rice can cut a serious sweetheart deal.

Don"™t think Turkey cares for us much anyway. Our Demo congress has already pissed them off by announcing they have come up with an unbinding resolution that stated that Turkey engaged in genocide. Oh yea, they forgot to mention that was during the Ottoman Empire.
