Buisness freedom, or religious discrimination?
I was just listening to the radio and heard a story where a Jehovah"™s Witness is suing a business for discrimination. The suit states, the Jehovah Witness was not given the job because of his religion. This business is one that puts on parties. The company told the Jehovah witness they could not use him because his religion would not allow him to do his job. The Jehovah Witness told the company he could not have anything to do with pagan related parties. And since Christmas, Birthdays, ect., ect., are based on pagan rituals, he could not do such a thing. Birthdays, Christmas, ect., ect., is what this business banks on. Is this a case of religious discrimination, or is the business in its right to not hire him. I have my opinion, but would like to see what yall think. This is actually going to court. It is true, he was not offered the job because of his Faith.

business decision...
would you hire muslims or jews to work in a pork processing plant?? would you hire klan to patrol the robert taylor homes in chicago?? how about men to work as waitresses at hooters (an actual case)?? would PETA hire hunters to work for them??
if the persons beliefs restrict them from doing their jobs, well, guess what, they don't get the job... if they are willing to put their beliefs aside to perform the job then no problem...

Definitely not appropriate to hold the business accountable or liable. What next, a blind man suingUPS for notgiving him a truck and route? We had an Islammic cab driver incident at theMinneapolis International Airport a few months back, as islamic cab drivers were refusing fares who had alcohol with them. Decision made? Cabbies get fined and banned from picking up fares for something like 90 days first time they refuse.

I'm in the early stages of a lawsuit against the Cincinnati Bengals. I have applied for the position as Kickoff returner. But they are discriminating against me simply on the basis that I am 42 year old, run a 5.2 seconds 40 yard dash, and am prone to fumble when hit by a 250 pound back-up linebacker.
